    Hello,
I am contacting you because I have an error with a redirect for an “attachment” link.
My page contains a link: “attachment_id …” (photo n ° 1) but when I click on it, I am redirected to this page (photo n ° 2). To open my pdf file, I must click on the link again (photo n ° 2).
I do not understand why by clicking on the link “attachment …” I am not redirected directly to the pdf file.

  • Hello,

Thank you for contacting Rank Math and sorry for any inconvenience that might have been caused due to that.

Can you please share a direct URL to the page of Photo no 1 so that we can take a close look for you?

Looking forward to helping you. Thank you.

    Hello,

I have updated the sensitive data as requested. Can you please check further?
link 2 is at the bottom of page 1. Normally, I should be redirected to link 3 automatically.

    Thank you.

    Hello,

It seems the redirection is not done correctly.

You need to redirect ?attachment_id=3616 to wp-content/uploads/2020/01/QSC_KW181_Manuel_FR.pdf

You can check how to setup the redirection correctly:
    https://rankmath.com/kb/setting-up-redirections/

    Thank you.

Why not but there are 84 products on my site with a total of over 100 PDF documentation files, I cannot create a redirect for each PDF file.
Before the installation of Rank Math, this redirection was done automatically …

    Works with Yoast,
Consider adding this feature to your plugin : https://ibb.co/0mX5VTk

    Hello,

Rank math has an option to redirect attachment URLs. To enable/disable this just head over to Rank math > General Settings > Links > redirect attachments.
    img

If this is enabled, all attachment are redirected to their parent URLs. URLs that are not attached to any post are redirected using the redirect orphan option which is usually homepage by default.

You can try disabling this option, if enabled, to stop the pdf file redirecting to the parent page.

Let us know if this helps
