‘noindex’ detected in ‘robots’ meta tag Problem

    Rank Math free

I have this same problem. I have started a new ecommerce store blacktshirt.us.
, that page is indexed along with other pages like contact us, about etc. but my product pages like https://www.blacktshirt.us/black-plain-unisex-t-shirt/ are showing
No: ‘noindex’ detected in ‘robots’ meta tag

Now, when I check that product page’s source code, I find
    <meta name=”robots” content=”noindex, follow” />

Please tell, how can I change this to ‘Index’? where is the problem?

Also, I have unticked the option ‘discourage search engines from indexing this site’

    Thanks in advance.

  • Hello,

Thank you for getting in touch and I am extremely sorry about the trouble this might have caused.

    1. Make sure the product page is not selected as ‘noindex’ in WP > Posts > Your Post > Advanced Tab in Rank Math.

    Individual Post Advanced Tab

    2. Ensure that the noindex is not selected for Global or Products meta:

    Noindex Settings

If all this is set to index, then we might need to take a closer look at the settings. Please edit the first post on this ticket and include your WP logins in the designated Sensitive Data section.

    Hello,

I have updated the sensitive data as requested. Can you please check further?

    Thank you.

    Can you please help?

    Hello,

After looking into it, the issue seems to be with the plugin Buy Now Button for WooCommerce. It seems to add a cart reference to your product pages while on the other hand, Rank math integration to WooCommerce set the pages cart, checkout and my account to noindex by default. You will have to get in touch with the plugin developer to look into this. Let us know if our input is required

Looking forward to helping you. Thank you.

Thanks a lot, Michael for your help.
Absolutely, ‘Buy Now Button for WooCommerce’ Plugin was the problem.
I deactivated it and checked product page source code, which it showed, noindex when it was activated and index, when the plugin was deactivated.

Again, thank you very much for your help!

    Hello,

    Glad that helped.

If it isn’t too much to ask for – would you mind leaving us a review here?

It only takes a couple of minutes but helps us tremendously.

It would mean so much to us and would go a really long way.

    Thank you.
