  • Hello,

We apologize for the issue you are facing with your website’s low click-through rate (CTR). There are several factors that could contribute to this situation:

    1. Meta Tags and Snippets: Ensure that your meta titles and descriptions are compelling and relevant to the keywords you are targeting. A well-crafted meta description can significantly improve your CTR.

    2. Keyword Optimization: While you may have optimized for certain keywords, it’s essential to ensure that these keywords are relevant to your content and that they match user intent. If users do not find what they expect when they click, they may not return.

    3. Competition: If you are competing against well-established websites for high-volume keywords, it may be challenging to achieve a high CTR. Consider targeting long-tail keywords or less competitive phrases that are more specific to your niche.

    4. Content Quality: High-quality, engaging content is crucial. If your content does not provide value or is not engaging enough, users may not click through from search results.

    5. Search Engine Updates: Google frequently updates its algorithms, which can affect how your site ranks and how often it appears in search results. Keeping up with these changes is important for maintaining visibility.

    6. Analytics Review: Utilize the analytics tools available in Rank Math to track your performance metrics. This can help you identify trends and areas for improvement. You can find more about the analytics features here.

If you continue to experience issues, we recommend reviewing your SEO strategy and possibly adjusting your approach based on the insights you gather from your analytics data.

Thank you for raising this concern, and we hope this information helps you improve your website’s performance!

I have been working on Meta Tags and Snippets and otimising keywords, and content quality. I have been following this thoroughly for a year now, but nothing changed – why?!
    Can you investigate this please

My website ranking drops and the click rates are either 1 or 0. I invested so much time writing content and optimizing certain keywords, but the ranking is still low and search appearance is stll 1 or 0. Why and what can be done?

    Hello,

There are a few things you have to keep in mind when using any SEO plugin, not just Rank Math.

    1. An SEO plugin alone cannot bring down or bring up the traffic in a day (or even a few days) unless incorrect Meta Tags are used by setting up the plugin improperly. That’s why we have a detailed tutorial on that:
    https://rankmath.com/kb/how-to-setup/

    2. All the SEO plugins add Meta tags for the search engines which can be checked by viewing the source of a page. For instance, here:
    view-source:https://rankmath.com/

Other popular plugins generate similar tags:
    https://i.rankmath.com/n94KyH

And with the Rank Math plugin, additional tags are added to a page so search engines can understand the content on a website better.

    3. Google brings a new algorithmic update several times a month and the chances are great that your website got hit by that.

We have a full guide on that: https://rankmath.com/blog/google-algorithm-update-recovery/

And if you are using Rank Math PRO, you can even see if the drop in traffic correlates to an algorithm update. Here’s how:
    https://rankmath.com/kb/google-algorithm-updates/

    Looking forward to helping you.

Your response is generic and not helpful.
Did you read my first message properly and you told me “a few days” wherease I mentioned more than a year working on the website and by now zero or one click!
Can someone investigate this rather than giving generic response please!

    Hello,

Could you please share your website URL with us so that we can check further for you?

It seems you’re facing a situation where your page is not showing up in Google search results for specific keywords. This issue could be due to various factors that affect how Google ranks and displays content in search results.

Please note that ranking with your desired keywords/keyphrase depends on much more than your on-page optimization.

Also, only Google can determine how results are ranked in SERP and it is up to Google to show your content for the desired keyword when searched. Google’s algorithm controls the results in Google search result pages. However, Rank Math ensures that your website is indexed and available for search engines to display in search engine result pages.

You can learn more about the key factors that help determine which results are returned for a search query from this Google article: https://www.google.com/search/howsearchworks/how-search-works/ranking-results/

However, to make tracking your ranking for keywords on Google easier, you can use the Rank Math’s Rank Tracker feature to track your keywords and their position on the Search Engine Result Page.

Rank Tracker can track the keyword performance of your selected keywords. You can enter the keywords in the Rank tracker, and the keyword performance will be monitored so that you can have a clear picture of which keywords are performing well as compared to the others. Read more about the Rank Tracker here https://rankmath.com/kb/rank-tracker/

Also, note that ranking on Google depends on different factors. Here are some of the factors Google considers when ranking your website.

    1. Your website’s authority
    2. Your content’s quality and how better it is than the other article currently ranking.
    3. How competitive the keyword you are using is.
    4. How many backlinks you have and if they are better than what the other websites ranking for that keyword have.
    5. Your website’s crawlability.
    6. Frequency of new content and content updates.
    7. So much more that there is a dedicated blog post on it by Brian Dean 🙂 https://backlinko.com/google-ranking-factors

We hope that helps. Please don’t hesitate to get in touch if you have any other questions.

    Thank you.

    Hello,

I have updated the sensitive data as requested. Can you please check further?

    Thank you.

    Hello,

There are a lot of incongruences in the details of the company on the website and on records. For example, you have the website registered with US TLD but the company is located in the United Kingdom.

That certainly doesn’t help with the Local SEO because Google sees conflicting information and for businesses, that is a huge pain point.

Beyond that, you are in a very competitive niche and market that relies mostly on direct contact and word-of-mouth to generate revenues and leads.

Last but not least, there isn’t really much content on the website besides the product pages which makes it difficult to generate traffic because only someone looking for that specific product would reach it, and even so, in a saturated market that would likely require paid ads to get consistent results.

Don’t hesitate to get in touch if you have any other questions.

    Thank youf rot he expiation.
Yes, I am based in the UK, but supply goods to the US and I wanted to have a dedicated website for the US. So what is the best way to do this?
Should I hide the address so that it does not conflict with search engines?

Yes I am in the competitive market, but I am doing my best to optimise it as I have unique selling points. However, what are your recommendations about this?

What do you mean by “there isn’t really much content on the website besides the product pages”?

    What should I do?

I have around 150 pages that I am trying to target specific keywords – is not this correct?
And I am still creating content.

    Please advise.

    Your help is much appreciated

    Hello,

Ensuring a consistent NAP (Name, Address, Phone) information is key, especially for Local SEO.

While having product pages is essential, adding more content related to industry trends, customer testimonials, and product guides can attract a broader audience. This can also increase your site’s authority for related keywords.

Since you’re in a competitive niche, look into long-tail and unique keywords your competitors may not target as heavily.

    We hope this helps.

    Thanks.

Thanks for the reply. Regarding “Ensuring a consistent NAP (Name, Address, Phone) information is key, especially for Local SEO.”, what should I do – can you advise on steps to take tailored to my website rather than generic info please.

As for “adding more content related to industry trends, customer testimonials, and product guides can attract a broader audience. This can also increase your site’s authority for related keywords.”, can you please provide example for each point you mentioned.

Also, can you please let me know if it is fine to use ChatGPT to create contents for my website?

    Hello,

For a consistent setup, ensure your website and any online listings (e.g., Google Business Profile) reflect the same address and phone number details. If you want a US-focused site, consider using a virtual US address or omitting the address if it’s non-critical.

For content ideas, share industry trends showing how your products meet evolving needs, feature US customer testimonials, and create “how-to” guides that highlight product benefits and uses.

Lastly, yes, using ChatGPT to help draft content is fine! Just review it for accuracy and align it with your unique brand voice. We do have similar functionality that you may like to try: https://rankmath.com/content-ai/
