    Dear Support Team,

I’m experiencing compatibility issues between RankMath SEO and wpForo plugins on my WordPress site, resulting in unexpected redirections.

    Issue Description:

I used wpForo to create a Forum website, and some Post Access Problems occured:

Forum posts are automatically redirecting to the homepage
This occurs randomly with certain forum threads
The redirects appear to be triggered by RankMath’s URL handling

    Member Profile Access Issues:

User profiles are redirecting to the homepage
Clicking on any username triggers this redirection
The issue started after recent updates to RankMath

    Technical Environment:

    WordPress (latest version)
    RankMath SEO plugin (latest version)
    wpForo plugin (latest version)
Both plugins are up to date

    Troubleshooting Attempted:

    Checked permalink settings
    Verified .htaccess configurations
Temporarily disabled RankMath and no redirect anymore.
Confirmed the issue is related to the interaction between these two plugins

Thank you for your assistance in resolving this plugin conflict.

    Best regards,

  • Hello,

We apologize for the issue you are facing with the compatibility between Rank Math SEO and wpForo plugins, resulting in unexpected redirections. Thank you for providing detailed information about the problem.

It seems that the conflict between these two plugins is causing the redirection issues you described. Here are a few steps you can take to further troubleshoot this issue:

    1. Perform a Quick Conflict Check: Since you mentioned that disabling Rank Math resolved the redirection, it indicates a conflict. You can perform a quick conflict check by enabling the Troubleshooting mode and disabling other plugins one by one to see if any specific plugin is causing the issue.

      • Ensure you have a complete backup of your site before making changes.
      • You can follow this guide on how to check plugin conflicts.
    2. Debug Redirection Feature: Utilize Rank Math’s debug redirection feature to identify what might be causing the redirects. This can help pinpoint the exact issue.

      • More information on using this feature can be found in our documentation.
    3. Check for Theme Conflicts: Sometimes, themes can also cause conflicts with plugins. If possible, switch to a default WordPress theme temporarily to see if the issue persists.

    4. Review Error Logs: Check your server error logs for any messages that might indicate what is going wrong when both plugins are active.

    5. Contact wpForo Support: Since this issue involves both plugins, it may also be beneficial to reach out to wpForo support for their insights on compatibility with Rank Math.

    Hello,

The issue is coming from the Redirect Attachments option. There must be some attachment pages with the same slugs as the affected URLs. You will have to disable the Redirect Attachments option in WP Dashboard > Rank Math SEO > General Settings > Links to fix the issue.

If you want to use the Redirect Attachments option, find the attachment and change its slug to fix the issue. Here is a guide to help you change the slug of the attachment page: https://www.wpeditorial.com/how-to-change-media-library-slugs-in-wordpress/

Hope that helps and please do not hesitate to let us know if you need our assistance with anything else.
