I am experiencing an issue with the Redirections module

#898156
  • Hello Rank Math Support,

I am experiencing an issue with the Redirections module on my WordPress site (https://www.picopet.com). Every time I attempt to create and save a new redirection, the settings are not saved, and the redirection does not appear in the list.

Here are the steps I’ve taken so far:

I have tried creating a 301 Permanent Redirect from http://picopet.com/* to https://www.picopet.com/$1, but it does not save.
I have checked my server’s file permissions for the .htaccess file, and everything seems to be set correctly.
I cleared the cache (both WordPress and server cache).
I have deactivated other plugins to check for conflicts, but the issue persists.
I have updated to latest Rank Math 1.0.230
I have tried Status & Tools > Database Tools > Re-create Missing Database Tables.

I don’t know what to do next.

My WordPress and Rank Math installations are up-to-date, and I’m not seeing any error messages in the browser console or server logs related to this issue.

Could you please advise on how to resolve this issue so that I can successfully save redirections?

    Thank you for your assistance!

    Best regards,
    Johan

  • Hello,

We apologize for the issue you are facing with the Redirections module. It sounds like you’ve already taken several important steps to troubleshoot the problem. Since you mentioned that the redirections are not saving, this could be due to missing database tables, which you have already attempted to recreate.

Here are a few additional steps you can try:

    1. Check for Missing Database Tables Again: Ensure that you have successfully recreated all missing database tables. Sometimes, it may require a second attempt if there were any issues during the first run.

    2. Enable Advanced Mode: If you haven’t already, make sure to enable Advanced Mode in the Database Tools section. This can sometimes reveal additional options or settings that may help.
      Navigate to Database Tools

    3. Debug Redirection Feature: Enable the debug feature for redirections to see if it provides any insights into why the redirection is not saving. You can find this option under Rank Math SEO → General Settings → Redirections. This feature will show an interstitial before redirects occur, which can help identify the specific rule causing issues.
Enable Debug Redirections on Rank Math

    4. Check .htaccess File: Since you mentioned checking file permissions, also ensure that there are no conflicting rules in your .htaccess file that might be affecting the redirection process. You can edit your .htaccess file through Rank Math SEO → General Settings → Edit .htaccess and look for any unexpected rules.
      edit .htaccess

    5. Server Configuration: If the issue persists, it might be worth checking with your hosting provider to ensure there are no server-level restrictions or configurations that could be interfering with the Rank Math plugin’s functionality.

If none of these steps resolve the issue, please reply to this ticket, and a human agent from our support team will take over and assist you further.

Thank you for your patience, and we hope to get this resolved for you soon!
