Hi – hope you are well?

The ” /category/ ” is missing from the breadcrumb, on the front end, with posts only in three post categories.

The breadcrumbs work fine in other categories and their posts. It works on pages, too.

Here is a post where it is not working: [see enclosed]

Any help you can give will be appreciated…

  • Hello,

We apologize for the issue you are facing with the breadcrumbs not displaying the category for specific posts. It seems that the breadcrumbs are functioning correctly for other categories and pages, which indicates that the issue may be related to the settings or configuration for those particular categories.

Here are a few things you can check:

    1. Show Category(s) Setting: Ensure that the Show Category(s) option is enabled in your Rank Math settings. You can find this under WordPress Dashboard → Rank Math SEO → General Settings → Breadcrumbs. If this option is disabled, the category will not appear in the breadcrumbs.

    2. Primary Category: If your posts belong to multiple categories, make sure that the primary category is set correctly. You can set the primary category in the Rank Math Meta Box when editing the post.

    3. Category Visibility: Check if there are any visibility settings or customizations applied to those specific categories that might be affecting how they appear in the breadcrumbs.

    4. Theme Support: If your theme has native support for Rank Math breadcrumbs, ensure that it is properly configured. You can check this by going to Rank Math SEO → Status and Tools → System Info → Active Theme and looking for rank-math-breadcrumbs in the theme features.

If you’ve checked all these settings and the issue persists, please reply to this ticket with more details about the specific categories and posts, and a human agent from the Rank Math Support team will assist you further.

Thank you for raising this concern!

    Hello,

I have updated the sensitive data as requested. Can you please check further?

    Thank you.

    Hello,

We tried accessing your site using the credentials you shared in the sensitive data section, however none of the 2FA codes worked for your site.

You can temporarily disable 2FA or better still create a staging site where you can replicate the issue and then share its access with us.

We look forward to helping you.

    Thanks.

    Drat, sorry about that.

I have now disabled the 2fa.

Do you mind if you try and access the site as per the Sensitive Data Section?

    Thanks in advance.

    Hello,

We deeply apologize for the unexpected delay in response. We shared the issue with our developers and they are investigating it. For further troubleshooting, we might need the FTP logins of your website.

If you’re not sure about your site’s FTP logins, you can get in touch with your hosting provider and then share the logins in the sensitive data section.

    Looking forward to helping you.

    Thank you.

    Hello,

The issue with the page you shared is that it had a parent page associated with it, so it was likely converted from page to post using the plugin you have installed but the parent page was not removed from its data, causing the issue with the breadcrumbs.

Please refrain from converting post types on the website, unless you also make the necessary cleanup after that clearing the parent pages in case those are subject to changes.

Don’t hesitate to get in touch if you have any other questions.

    Hello,

Since we did not hear back from you for 15 days, we are assuming that you found the solution. We are closing this support ticket.

If you still need assistance or any other help, please feel free to open a new support ticket, and we will be more than happy to assist.

    Thank you.
