    Hi Rank Math Support Team,

I recently migrated my website’s SEO plugin from YoastSEO to Rank Math. While everything was working perfectly on Yoast, I’ve encountered a few critical issues after switching:

Feature images not appearing on social media: When sharing links on social platforms, the feature images are missing and being replaced by blank spaces. This is something I’ve never faced before.

Favicon disappeared from Google: My favicon no longer appears in Google search results. This change coincided with the migration to Rank Math.

These issues are affecting my site’s performance and visibility. Could you please help resolve them at the earliest?

    Looking forward to your assistance.

    Best regards,
    Saurabh

  • Hello,

We apologize for the issues you are facing with feature images and the favicon after migrating to Rank Math. Thank you for bringing these concerns to our attention.

Feature Images Not Appearing on Social Media

For the issue with feature images not appearing when sharing links on social platforms, please ensure that you have set the correct Open Graph settings in Rank Math. You can do this by navigating to WordPress Dashboard → Rank Math SEO → Social Meta and checking if the Open Graph settings are enabled. Additionally, make sure that each post has a featured image set, as this is what social media platforms will use when sharing links.

    Favicon Disappeared from Google

Regarding the favicon issue, it’s important to set your website’s favicon correctly. You can do this by going to WordPress Dashboard → Appearance → Customize → Site Identity. If you have already set your favicon there, please note that it may take some time for Google to update the favicon in search results. We recommend clearing any site, plugin, or server-level cache to ensure that the changes are reflected.

For more detailed guidance on setting up your favicon, you can refer to our article here.

If you continue to experience these issues after checking these settings, please reply to this ticket, and a human agent from the Rank Math Support team will assist you further.

Thank you for your patience, and we look forward to resolving these issues for you soon!

I have already tried the usual workarounds, but the problem seems to be more technical. I would appreciate your support in resolving these issues as they are impacting my site’s visibility and user experience.

    Hello,

Thank you for your query and we are so sorry about the trouble this must have caused.

Please share the affected post/page URLs where the social images aren’t working.

As for the Favicon, please note that Rank Math doesn’t handle that. It is usually your theme that is generating the favicon so you need to make sure that your favicon is properly configured. You may check with your theme author for that or you may refer to this guide: https://rankmath.com/kb/wordpress-favicon/.

Even so, it is up to Google to decide if they wish to insert the icon on the SERP, it will depend on several factors, and website authority is one of those factors.https://developers.google.com/search/docs/appearance/favicon-in-search

    Looking forward to helping you.

    Hello,

I have updated the sensitive data as requested. Can you please check further?

    Thank you.

    Hello,

We’ve checked the Opengraph image of the URL you shared, and it is getting a 403 Forbidden error. You may refer to the screenshot attached in the sensitive data section as well.

Please ensure that the image is publicly available for social apps to crawl and display hem as well.

    Looking forward to helping you.

This is the issue I am getting after getting on rankmath. It was working all good on Yoast for years so it seems like the Rankmath broke my site.

So, I played around with some settings, and it turned out that ‘Hotlink protection’ on my server was conflicting with Rank Math for some reason. I switched it off, and the issue seems to be resolved for now.

    Hello,

We are glad to know that this issue has been resolved. Thank you for letting us know.

This ticket will be closed now, but you can always open a new one if you have any other questions or concerns. We are here to help you with anything related to Rank Math.

We appreciate your patience and cooperation throughout this process.

Thank you for choosing Rank Math.
