  • Hello,

We apologize for the issue you are facing with the pages being excluded from indexing due to a ‘noindex’ tag. It seems that even though the template and authors are set to index, there might be some specific settings or configurations affecting those four pages.

Here are a few steps you can take to troubleshoot and resolve this issue:

    1. Check for NoIndex Tags:

      • Inspect the HTML source of the affected pages to see if there is a noindex meta tag present. You can do this by right-clicking on the page and selecting "View Page Source" or using the browser’s developer tools.
      • If you find a noindex tag, you will need to remove it from the page’s HTML code.
    2. Review Rank Math’s Titles & Meta Settings:

      • Go to Rank Math SEO → Titles & Meta in your WordPress dashboard. Ensure that the settings for these specific pages are set to index. If they are set to noindex, change them to index and save the changes.
Set Noindex in Titles and Meta Settings
    3. Search Engine Visibility Settings:

      • Check your Settings → Reading in the WordPress dashboard. Ensure that the checkbox labeled Discourage search engines from indexing this site is unchecked. If it is checked, uncheck it and save changes.
        Leave Search engine visibility unchecked
    4. Check for Plugin Conflicts:

      • Sometimes, other plugins or themes may add a noindex tag. Review any active plugins or theme settings that might affect indexing.
    5. Internal Linking Structure:

      • Ensure that these pages have internal links pointing to them from other relevant pages on your site, as this can help Google discover and index them more effectively.

After making these adjustments, you can request Google to re-crawl the affected pages through Google Search Console.

If the issue persists after trying these steps, please reply to this ticket, and a human agent from our support team will assist you further. Thank you for raising this concern!

    Hello,

We checked and can confirm that all the pages whose URLs you shared, have their meta robots set to index.

We checked your robots.txt and will recommend you remove the crawl delay.

You should only use the crawl-delay directive in robots.txt if you’re experiencing server load issues. If your website is hosted on a server with sufficient resources to handle crawling and you haven’t experienced any performance issues, adding a crawl delay may not be necessary.

You may refer to this robots.txt rule for your website:

    User-agent: *
    Disallow: /wp-admin/
    Allow: /wp-admin/admin-ajax.php

    Sitemap: https://accreditedgemologists.org/sitemap_index.xml

Here’s how you edit your robots.txt in Rank Math: https://rankmath.com/kb/how-to-edit-robots-txt-with-rank-math/

Please do not hesitate to let us know if you need our assistance with anything else.

Thank you for your response. I’ve never made any changes to the robots.txt file. There is no crawl delay set. It has the default RankMath code and reads exactly as your example above.

    Hello,

Here’s our view when we visit your robots.txt:

If you have a robots.txt file in your root directory you should delete it if you want Rank Math to generate and manage your robots.txt.

    We hope this helps.

    Thanks.

Thank you. I removed the robots.txt file at the root and requested indexing. I had not set up a robots.txt file, or changed any of RankMath’s instructions. Do you have any thoughts about how that file came to be there?

Never mind, I can see that the host created it. Thank you for your help!
