Hello,
We apologize for the issue you are facing with the SEO score when updating your product. This can happen due to several reasons, including how Rank Math recalculates the SEO scores based on the current settings and content of your product.
When you edit a product and make changes, even if they seem minor, Rank Math may temporarily boost the score based on the new input. However, upon saving, it might revert to a lower score if it detects that the overall optimization does not meet certain criteria or if there are other factors affecting the score.
To ensure that your SEO score reflects accurately:
-
Recalculate Scores: You can use the "Recalculate Scores" feature in Rank Math to update the SEO scores for all your published posts where the focus keyword is set. This can help in aligning the scores correctly after making edits.

-
Check for Conflicts: Sometimes, conflicts with other plugins or themes can cause unexpected behavior. Ensure that your Rank Math plugin is updated to the latest version and check for any compatibility issues.
-
Review Content: Make sure that all required fields and recommendations are being met according to Rank Math’s guidelines. Sometimes, even minor changes can affect the overall score.
If the issue persists, we recommend replying to this ticket so a human agent from the Rank Math Support team can assist you further.
Thank you for bringing this concern to our attention!
Hello,
Could you please confirm if you’re using a page builder on your site or your products? If so, please share the name of the builder so we can check.
Meanwhile, the score is generated in the editor to show the correct score in the list view as well.
If that’s not happening, we have a tool to generate/recalculate your old posts score in Rank Math > Status & Tools > Database Tools:
https://rankmath.com/kb/seo-score-not-available/#num-3-1-navigate-to-database-tools
Looking forward to helping you.
Thank you very much for your response, I am using Elementor, Elementor Pro and Elementor Header & Footer Builder.
I have also introduced a code snippet to prevent metadata from being duplicated:
/* Remove meta description Hello Elementor */ function remove_hello_elementor_description_meta_tag() { remove_action( ‘wp_head’, ‘hello_elementor_add_description_meta_tag’ ); } add_action( ‘after_setup_theme’, ‘remove_hello_elementor_description_meta_tag’ );
Thanks
Hello,
If you’re using a page builder like Elementor, please note that you should always rely on the score from inside Elementor’s visual builder because when you are in the default WordPress editor, some shortcodes are not readable from Elementor and the discrepancy can happen.
The correct score is the one shown in the builder and you will have to update the post in the Elementor editor to save the correct score.
Looking forward to helping you.
