  • Hello, we apologize for the issue you are facing with your new content being tagged as non-indexed. To resolve this, you can follow these step-by-step instructions:

    Step 1: Identify Affected Pages

    1. Go to Google Search Console.
    2. Navigate to the Pages section and click on Not indexed.
Excluded by NoIndex tag - Google Search Console status
    3. Click on the Excluded by ‘noindex’ tag status to see a list of all affected pages.
Click on Excluded by NoIndex tag

    Step 2: Remove NoIndex Tag

    1. For each page you want to be indexed, you need to remove the NoIndex tag. You can do this in the WordPress editor for each post or page.
      Identified the pages

Step 3: Check Index Status in Rank Math

    1. Go to Rank Math SEO → Analytics → Index Status in your WordPress dashboard to check the real data/status of your pages.
      Index status tab

Step 4: Adjust Search Engine Visibility Settings

    1. Go to Settings → Reading in your WordPress dashboard.
    2. Ensure that the checkbox labeled Discourage search engines from indexing this site is unchecked.
      Leave Search engine visibility unchecked

Step 5: Check Titles & Meta Settings

    1. Navigate to WordPress Dashboard → Rank Math SEO → Titles & Meta.
    2. Check each tab to ensure that noindex is not set as a default value for your posts and taxonomies. If it is, change it to index and save changes.
      Index tags

Step 6: Use Bulk Actions (Optional)

If you have many posts to change:

    1. Go to the Posts menu in WordPress.
    2. Use the Rank Math filter to select Articles Noindexed and click Filter.
      Filter by Article NoIndexed
    3. Select the posts you want to change, choose Set to Index from the Bulk Actions drop-down menu, and click Apply.
      Set to Index

After following these steps, your new content should no longer be tagged as non-indexed. If you continue to experience issues, please reply to this ticket, and a human agent from the Rank Math Support team will assist you further.
