Hello, we apologize for the issue you are facing with editing the snippet in Rank Math. It sounds like you are on the right track by trying to add a keyword to the Title and a meta description. However, if the preview is reflecting your changes but it still indicates that no changes have been made, there are a few things you can check:
-
Ensure You Save Changes: After editing the snippet, make sure to click the Update button on your post or page to save the changes. If you don’t save, the changes won’t be applied.
-
Check for Plugin Conflicts: Sometimes, other plugins can interfere with Rank Math. You can refer to our guide on plugin conflicts to troubleshoot this issue.
-
JavaScript Errors: There might be JavaScript-related errors preventing the changes from being saved. You can check for these errors using the browser’s Developer Tools Console. Here’s how to do it in Chrome:
- Open Developer Tools by navigating to More Tools → Developer Tools or using the shortcut Ctrl + Shift + J (Windows) or Cmd + Option + J (Mac).
- Click on the Console tab to see if there are any errors that might be affecting functionality.

-
Caching Issues: If you have a caching plugin enabled, clear your cache after making changes to ensure that the latest version of your page is being displayed.
If you’ve checked all of these and are still having issues, please reply to this ticket, and a human agent from the Rank Math Support team will assist you further. Thank you for raising this concern!

Hello,
Please note that Rank Math looks for the exact match of your focus keyword with the title, description, and content. But it doesn’t mean that you’ll have to use the full title in your focus keyword field.
If your title is “Expert Exhaust Hood & Restaurant Cleaning Services Near You” then you can use “Exhaust Hood” or “Exhaust Hood & Restaurant Cleaning” as your keyword. But if you use “Exhaust Hood cleaning”, then the test will be failed as it doesn’t exactly match your title.
For more details on this test, you can check this URL: https://rankmath.com/kb/score-100-in-tests/#focus-keyword-in-the-seo-title-primary-focus-keyword-only
Hope that helps and please don’t hesitate to let us know if you have any other questions.
Thank you.
