Hello,
We apologize for the issue you are facing with the 404 errors on your articles and web stories. A 404 error indicates that the page you are trying to access cannot be found on the server. This can happen for several reasons, such as broken links, deleted pages, or misconfigured server settings.
To troubleshoot this issue, you can consider the following steps:
-
Check Your Web Server Settings: Ensure that your web server is configured correctly to return a 404 error for missing pages. If it’s not set up properly, it may be returning a different status code.
- You may need to contact your web hosting provider to assist with this.
-
Verify Links: Make sure that the links to your articles and web stories are correct and have not changed or been deleted.
-
Use Google Search Console: Check Google Search Console for any crawl errors related to your pages. This tool can help identify issues with indexing and provide insights into why certain pages may not be accessible.
-
Redirects: If any of your articles have been moved or deleted, consider setting up 301 redirects from the old URLs to new ones to prevent users from encountering 404 errors.
If you continue to experience issues after trying these steps, please reply to this ticket, and a human agent from the Rank Math Support team will assist you further. Thank you for raising this concern!
I checked everything but still it not getting open.
Hello,
Can you please confirm if the issue is occurring because of the Rank Math plugin? To confirm this, you can temporarily deactivate the Rank Math plugin on your website and check again. Don’t worry, you’ll not lose any of your settings as they are saved on your database.
Let us know how it goes. Looking forward to helping you.
Thank you.
Yes, while checking the article in “check URL status” instant indexing it showed 404 and I also shared the link with my friends and family members who also had the same issue!
Hello,
Please head over to your WordPress Dashboard → Settings → Permalinks and save the settings without changing anything.

Please do take a complete backup of your website before sharing the information with us.
It is completely secure and only our support staff has access to that section. If you want, you can use the below plugin to generate a temporary login URL to your website and share that with us instead:
