Google will not accept rich snippets for search results

Google is not using any of the rich snippets that I am setting in Rankmath SEO plugin.

This is after indexing everything again with the snippets saved. The snippets are all highly relevant, shorter than what is being pulled from the website and natural in their flow and relevance.

I’ve tried to use the steps provided online in rankmaths page about this but nothing is working.

I tested the site on google’s rich test and nothing is wrong with the pages themselves. No errors.

How can I get this to work? It’s not working on any of my pages. Thank you.

  • Hello,

We apologize for the issue you are facing with your rich snippets not being accepted by Google. Thank you for raising this concern.

Since you’ve already tested your pages using Google’s Rich Results Testing Tool and found no errors, here are a few additional steps you can consider:

    1. Check if the Page is Crawled by Google: Ensure that the pages with the Schema Markup are indexed and crawled by Google. You can verify this using Google Search Console. Sometimes, even if the markup is correct, the page may not be indexed properly.

    2. Quality Issues: Google may not display rich snippets if there are quality-related issues with your site. Factors such as poorly written content, keyword stuffing, low-quality inbound links, slow loading times, or a lack of mobile-friendliness can affect this. Review your site for any of these issues.

    3. Patience with Re-indexing: After making changes to your Schema Markup, it may take some time for Google to re-index your pages and update its database. This process can sometimes take several weeks.

    4. Review Structured Data Guidelines: Familiarize yourself with Google’s structured data guidelines to ensure compliance with their requirements.

    5. Technical Issues: If there are any technical issues with the implementation of your rich snippets, they might not be recognized by Google. Double-check your Schema Markup configuration in Rank Math to ensure everything is set up correctly.

Please remember that even if everything is configured correctly, only Google has the authority to decide whether to display rich snippets in search results.

If you continue to experience issues, please reply to this ticket, and a human agent from the Rank Math Support team will assist you further.

    Thank you for your understanding!

To add further, when I look up my site on googles schema markup validator the section for Description is what I set via Rank Math, again all of the rich snippets I gave are highly relevant flowing and contextually more valid than what it pulled. I have reindexed cleared cache etc.

    Hello,

Thank you for contacting us. We apologize for any inconvenience this issue may have caused.

You can share the URL of an affected page with us so we can check it.

Please note that Google can choose to display a different title and description. It is a pretty common thing with Google these days. It happens with 70% of the results and we even have a KB dedicated to this problem and a few solutions we recommend:

Please check the KB and you will understand the reasons Google does this:
    https://rankmath.com/kb/different-meta-title-and-description/

Google has made some changes to their algorithm which automatically changes the titles, discarding the one you have set in your SEO title meta tag. This happens regardless of the SEO plugin you are using. We have covered this Google update here:

    Google Title Rewrite Update: https://rankmath.com/google-update/google-title-rewrite-update/

Hope that helps and please do not hesitate to let us know if you need our assistance with anything else.

    Hello,

Since we did not hear back from you for 15 days, we are assuming that you found the solution. We are closing this support ticket.

    Thank you.
