    Dear Rank Math Support Team,

I hope this message finds you well.

I am currently experiencing an issue with the Rank Math plugin on my website. It seems that the plugin is only generating sitemaps for pages and posts, but it is not generating sitemaps for categories or any other taxonomies. When I try to access the category sitemap (https://sa-clean.com/category-sitemap.xml), I receive a 404 error page.

Here’s what I have tried so far:

Verified that the category sitemap option is enabled in the settings.
    Regenerated the sitemaps manually.
Cleared both the website cache and the Cloudflare cache.
    Re-saved the permalink settings.
Disabled other plugins to check for conflicts, but the issue persists.
Despite these steps, the category sitemap and other taxonomies sitemaps are still not being generated. Could you kindly assist me in resolving this issue?

Thank you in advance for your help. I look forward to your response.

    Best regards,
    zedan

  • Hello,

We apologize for the issue you are facing with Rank Math not generating sitemaps for categories and other taxonomies. Thank you for detailing the steps you’ve already taken to troubleshoot this problem.

Since you’ve already verified that the category sitemap option is enabled and have tried several troubleshooting steps, we recommend checking a couple of additional things:

    1. Ensure Posts Are Set to Index: If your posts or categories are set to noindex, they won’t appear in the sitemap. You can check this by going to Rank Math SEO → Titles & Meta and ensuring that the Index checkbox is enabled for your categories.
      Index Titles and Meta settings

    2. Check Robots.txt File: Make sure that your robots.txt file does not have any rules blocking the category sitemap. You can check this in Rank Math SEO → General Settings → robots.txt.

    3. Flush Permalinks Again: Sometimes, flushing permalinks multiple times can help. Go to Settings → Permalinks and click Save Changes again.
      Flush Permalink Settings

    4. Check for Custom Canonicals: If you have set custom canonical URLs for your categories, they may not appear in the sitemap. Ensure that you are not using custom canonicals that could be affecting this.

If after checking these points the issue still persists, please reply to this ticket, and a human agent from the Rank Math Support team will take over and assist you further.

Thank you for your patience, and we look forward to resolving this issue for you soon!
