We have identified that this option is currently not working and it’s something that our developers are investigating. As soon as we get some updates, we’ll make sure to let you know here.
We would really appreciate your kind patience regarding this issue.
It’s important to note that Google will continue to crawl the websites, this feature is just to submit pages to the Indexing API, and it’s never recommended to solely rely on this method for indexing. In fact, as we mention in our documentation, Google advises using this only for a particular set of websites.
Don’t hesitate to get in touch if you have any other questions.
Hello,
We released an update for the Instant Indexing plugin (v1.1.21) where the issue has been fixed. Please make sure you’re using the latest version of the plugin on your website: https://wordpress.org/plugins/fast-indexing-api/
Once done, please clear your website cache and check again.
Hope that helps and please don’t hesitate to let us know if you have any other questions.
Thank you.
Thank you so much for your reply
It is showing the same error when choosing option -“Get URL Status”
Hello,
It’s important to emphasize that the situation with the “Get status” returning a 404 error happens when the URL being tested was not previously submitted to the Indexing API.
So, you need to first submit it, and wait for Google to parse it and only then you can request the status for the URL.
As for the submissions, those should be working now with the latest version of the plugin, so please update it from your plugins directory.
Thank you.
Hey there, we get the same Response. It´s not for all Domains we have tested, but at least 3 out of 10 Domains give inital a 404 Response for all given URLs. We then submit the Domains (Status Code 200) but they are still not able to check for the current Status.
Could you maybe look into it again?
Hello,
That means that the URL was still not processed by the Indexing API from Google. It’s important to note that the requirements for that have changed and now the URLs go through rigorous spam detection.
Besides that, the guidelines now state that this is exclusive to a particular set of websites, so if your website doesn’t fall under that category or is considered spammy the submission will go through but the URLs will never be parsed by the API.
You can check the full guidelines here: https://developers.google.com/search/apis/indexing-api/v3/quickstart
