RankMath and website-re design.

    Rank Math free

Hello, I have a client that I am beginning to work with and she has decent SEO right now but her website is junk. I would like to change her current WordPress theme to Elmentor and re-do the site.

My question is: Will changing the theme directly affect her seo ( I will not touch any links or anything)?

    – Should I make a subdomain and then switch it over?

    – Will I have to do re-directs (301)?

    Thanks.

  • Hello,

Thank you for getting in touch with us.

The recommendable way to make such considerable change on any site is to create a local/staging site, ensure everything is working fine on the test site then export or push it to the production/live site.

The redirects are only required if you make changes to existing URLs or if a number of URLs don’t exist. Once you have pushed the site to live, you can use the 404 monitor to log any 404 which you can then easily redirect with Rank math.

Hope that helps and please do not hesitate to let us know if you need our assistance with anything else.
