Favicon not working. Log error

    Rank Math free

    Hello,

I have created my website (rodapieceramico.com) and I have imported the Rank Math settings from another of my websites (staging2.petitceramic.com) to keep the basic settings, but now I have noticed that Google does not update my Favicon in the SERPS.

I have noticed that in the source code of the page, in the head there is a script that refers to the logo and the URL of my other website from where I have imported the json with the plugin settings (staging2.petitceramic.com) appears.

I have also noticed that in the error log there is an error referring to the favicon:

    WordPress database error Table 'dbwfrsd6awleou.iii_rank_math_redirections' doesn't exist for query SELECT * FROM iii_rank_math_redirections WHERE status = 'active' AND ( sources like '%a:2:{s:7:\"pattern\";s:11:\"favicon.ico\";s:10:\"comparison\";s:5:\"exact\";}%' or sources like '%favicon%' or sources like '%ico%' ) ORDER BY updated DESC made by require('wp-blog-header.php'), wp, WP->main, do_action_ref_array('wp'), WP_Hook->do_action, WP_Hook->apply_filters, RankMath\Redirections\Redirections->do_redirection, RankMath\Redirections\Redirector->__construct, RankMath\Redirections\Redirector->flow, RankMath\Redirections\Redirector->everything, RankMath\Redirections\DB::match_redirections, RankMath\Admin\Database\Query_Builder->get

I have cleared server cache, I have used rank math tools to do all possible database and cache cleanups, I have added the code manually in the header of my template indicating the favicon location but nothing works, do you know what this error is due to and how can I fix it?

  • Hello,

We apologize for the issue you are facing with your favicon not updating in the SERPs. It seems like there are a couple of factors at play here.

    1. Favicon Not Updating in SERPs: If Google is not updating your favicon in the search results, it could be due to caching issues or the favicon not being set correctly. You can set your website’s favicon at WordPress Dashboard → Appearance → Customize → Site Identity. Make sure to clear any site, plugin, or server-level cache after making changes.

    2. Error Log Regarding Favicon: The error message you provided indicates that there is a missing database table (iii_rank_math_redirections). This could be a result of an incomplete import of settings from your other website. To resolve this:

      • Ensure that you have the latest version of Rank Math installed, as updates often fix bugs and improve functionality.
      • You may need to recreate the missing table manually or reset the redirection settings in Rank Math. This can usually be done by going to the Rank Math dashboard and checking the redirection settings.
    3. Manual Code Addition: Since you’ve added the favicon code manually in your header, ensure that the URL is correct and accessible. You can also use the RealFaviconGenerator plugin to simplify the process of adding favicons across different devices and platforms.

If you continue to experience issues after trying these steps, we recommend replying to this ticket, and a human agent from the Rank Math Support team will assist you further.

Thank you for raising this concern, and we hope to help you resolve it soon!

    Hello,

I have updated the sensitive data as requested. Can you please check further?

    Thank you.

    Hello,

Thank you for reaching out to Rank Math support.

Typically, Rank Math does not manage your website’s favicon – your theme does. You can usually modify your favicon by going to Appearance > Customize > Site Identity > Site Icon.

The Rank Math feature that allows you to upload a logo is designed specifically for passing the logo to search engines and should is not used as a favicon. We do not control that aspect of your website.

Having said that, when I look at your website on my end, I see the same favicon, even on the /php_errorlog page.

Please feel free to reach out if you need assistance with anything else.

    Hello,

Since we did not hear back from you for 15 days, we are assuming that you found the solution. We are closing this support ticket.

If you still need assistance or any other help, please feel free to open a new support ticket, and we will be more than happy to assist.

    Thank you.
