Hello,
We apologize for the issue you are facing regarding the use of Rank Math on a staging website. When using Rank Math on a staging site, especially one that is not publicly accessible, you may encounter limitations with certain features that rely on external connections or APIs.
Potential Limitations:
- Analytics and Rank Tracking: Features that depend on Google Search Console and Google Analytics may not function properly if the staging site cannot connect to these services due to network restrictions.
- Updates: If your staging site cannot access the internet properly, you might miss out on important updates and new features that are released for Rank Math.
- API Features: Any features that require API calls to external services may not work as expected.
Workarounds:
- Local Development: If possible, consider using a local development environment where you can test Rank Math without the limitations of a private VPN.
- Public Staging Environment: If you can temporarily make your staging site publicly accessible, it may help in utilizing all features of Rank Math.
Conclusion:
If your staging environment is heavily restricted and you need full functionality, it might be best to avoid using Rank Math in that setup until you can ensure proper access to all necessary services. However, if you can manage to configure it in a way that allows for proper connectivity, you should be able to use Rank Math effectively.
Thank you for raising this concern! If you have further questions or need assistance, feel free to reply to this ticket, and a human agent from the Rank Math Support team will assist you further.

Hello,
The SEO Analyzer needs the site to be publicly accessible, so it won’t be useful in your staging site.
Aside from that, there is no unique way of treating a staging site that is different than the production/live site.
Once you have pushed your site to live, all the Rank Math settings you have made or imported from your staging site will still be intact.
You won’t, however, need to enable some modules such as the Analytics on the staging area since it won’t be useful. You can configure it on your live site after pushing your staging site.
Looking forward to helping you.
