<p>Hi, When I’m sharing link of properties (products) on WhatsApp mobile (IOS & Android), for some reason the snippets appears with strange letters/coding:

    Captura-de-pantalla-2020-09-24-a-las-15-21-51

However, if I’m sharing the same on desktop version of WhatsApp (Mac OS & Windows), the snippets are fine:

    Captura-de-pantalla-2020-09-24-a-las-15-18-44

Important, the issue I have with snippet only happening when someone trying to send on smartphones (different type with different OS) Can you help please? Thanks</p>

  • Hello,

There are a few reasons for the Facebook (or any other social network like WhatsApp) not picking your images and other social tags. We will list them below so you can check which one applies in your case:

    0. You have added the social meta using the Rank Math plugin. Please check this screencast:
    https://i.rankmath.com/neHI8w

    1. First and foremost, you must check the page source of the URL in question. Search for the og:image tag like in this Video:
    https://i.rankmath.com/aJCccE

If the og:image tag is not found, that means Rank Math is either disabled or not able to print your social tags. Once done checking if Rank Math is enabled, you must check why it isn’t able to print social content by following this troubleshooting guide:
    https://rankmath.com/kb/check-plugin-conflicts/

Make sure to follow all the instructions carefully.

    2. Assuming the og:image tag was found in step 1, we can proceed to find the issue.

Scenario 1: You are using minification on your website and your cache plugin is inputting too much inline CSS into your page source that your OpenGraph tags are pushed way too down your page’s source:
    https://i.rankmath.com/y4WIgQ

If this is the cache, you must move your inline CSS to a file because Facebook and other social networks will only look for OpenGraph tags in the first 60kbs of your page’s source. If they don’t find it, they will assume you haven’t added them. They don’t want to waste their resources crawling huge pages looking for OpenGraph tags.

Scenario 2: The gain browser cache option in most cache plugins like W3 Total Cache is known to not play well with Facebook’s OpenGraph detection. If you have it enabled, disable it. The option for W3 Total Cache is at WP > Performance > Browser Cache > HTTP (gzip) compression
    https://i.rankmath.com/BbaiC6

Then, clear your website and server cache (including Cloudflare – if enabled)

Once you are done, you might want to test again here:
    https://developers.facebook.com/tools/debug/

    Click the Scrape Again button:
    https://i.rankmath.com/A5z7WK

You should now see the OpenGraph tags update including the image.

Hope that helps and please do not hesitate to let us know if you need our assistance with anything else.

    Thank you.

    Hi,

Thinks for response, but I’m afraid, that nothing from above is related with our problem. As described, the problem we are facing is with WhatsApp on mobile (IOS & Android etc), where the text (snippet) for some reason display incorrectly (as per screenshots). We have no problems at all with any social network, all of them are displaying correctly the thumbnail picture and the text. The only issue we have is with WhatsApp on smartphones. And the problem we have is snippet/text when WhatsApp loaded the preview.

Any suggestion regarding WhatsApp mobile snippet/text issue???

    Hello,

I checked the site but everything is fine. Could it be that the phone where you are sending that message is not able to “read” that alphabet for some reason?

    Looking forward to help you.

Hi, we are trying on different models and OS. iPhone 7, 8 Plus, iPhone Pro.

The strange thing is that when we sending the message from Desktop version or WhatsApp online (from browser) it works, but from smartphones not.
Also, I have tried the very first few links (the products we loaded at the begging) and these are fine (the snippet loaded correctly), but most of the links of products we have submitted afterwards, giving us the problem with snippet text.

    Examples:

    Below links are fine:

    https://spanishouse.es/property/dvuhkomnatnaya-kvartira-v-vilyahojosa-95-kvm/

    https://spanishouse.es/property/novaya-sovremennaya-kvartira-v-benidorme/

    https://spanishouse.es/property/prostornaya-kvartira-nedaleko-ot-morya-benidorm/

Below links are with snippet text problem:

    https://spanishouse.es/property/kvartira-v-rajone-vilyahojosa-kala-benidorm/

    https://spanishouse.es/property/apartamenty-studiya-rajon-la-kala-benidorm/

    https://spanishouse.es/property/fantasticheskaya-urbanizatsiya-v-rajone-kala-benidorm/

    Many thanks!

    Hello,

I tested one of your URLs from my end and it is showing up just fine. Please check the screenshot below:

I used the sharing option on your post, are you using a different method to share your posts?

Looking forward to helping you. Thank you.
