Rank Math SEO Module Redirect Button Enabled On Its Own

#865641
  • Hello. I noticed that on a few “pages” that the “redirect” button located in the Rank Math SEO Module was strangely enabled with the redirection type set to 301 Permanent Move and the destination URL was set to a random page or post from my website. However, the page was not being redirected which is good because I did not enable this redirect since I don’t want the page redirected. Two example pages are:

    https://collectiblesandmoreinstore.com/shop/
    https://collectiblesandmoreinstore.com/diecast-inventory-search-request/

After I disabled the redirect button and saved the page, the redirect button gets enabled again on its own but with a different random page/post as the destination URL. After I disabled it and saved the page again (which I did several times), my page was no longer accessible from the browser and the message that the page wasn’t “redirecting properly” appeared instead of the actual page. Luckily, I was able to run a backup restore to get my page back.

Just before all of this happened, I also noticed that on a particular product post, when I changed the Rank Math SEO Description for the product, then saved the product post, the new Rank Math SEO product description was not saved but instead reverted to the previous Rank Math SEO product description. The example page is: https://collectiblesandmoreinstore.com/shop/looney-tunes-litho-watch-set/

  • Hello,

We apologize for the issue you are facing with the Rank Math SEO module. It sounds like there may be a conflict or a bug causing the redirect button to enable itself unexpectedly and revert your changes.

Here are a few steps you can take to troubleshoot this issue:

    1. Update Rank Math: Ensure that you are using the latest version of Rank Math. Sometimes, bugs are fixed in newer releases, so updating might resolve the issue.

    2. Check for Plugin Conflicts: Deactivate other plugins temporarily to see if there is a conflict causing this behavior. If the issue resolves after deactivating a specific plugin, that plugin may be the cause.

    3. Review .htaccess File: Check your .htaccess file for any rules that might be affecting redirects. You can do this through the Rank Math plugin by navigating to WordPress Dashboard → Rank Math SEO → General Settings → Edit .htaccess. Make sure there are no conflicting rules set up there.
      edit .htaccess

    4. Check Theme Functions: Sometimes, themes can have custom functions that might interfere with plugins. Switching to a default theme temporarily can help identify if the theme is causing the issue.

    5. Clear Cache: If you are using any caching plugins, clear the cache after making changes to ensure that you are seeing the most recent version of your site.

    6. Contact Support: If none of these steps resolve the issue, please reply to this ticket, and a human agent from the Rank Math Support team will assist you further.

Thank you for bringing this concern to our attention, and we hope to help you resolve it soon!
