  • Hello,

We apologize for the issue you are facing with your website’s redirects. It sounds like you’ve been working hard to manage your URLs and redirects.

When you initially set up 301 or 410 redirects for around 1600 URLs using Rank Math, those redirects should have been in place as long as the settings were active. However, when you installed another redirection plugin and deactivated Rank Math’s redirect section, the previous redirects managed by Rank Math would not have been active anymore. This means that any traffic to those URLs would have resulted in either a 404 error or whatever behavior the new plugin was set to handle.

Now that you have reactivated the Rank Math redirect section, the redirects you initially set up should be back in effect, provided that they were saved correctly in the Rank Math settings. Here’s what you can do to ensure everything is functioning as expected:

    1. Check Redirects in Rank Math: Go to WordPress Dashboard → Rank Math SEO → Redirections and verify that your 1600 redirects are still listed there. If they are, they should be functioning properly.

    2. Test the URLs: Use a browser or a tool to test some of the previously redirected URLs to see if they are redirecting correctly to their new destinations.

    3. Check for Conflicts: Since you mentioned using another redirection plugin, ensure that there are no conflicting rules between the two plugins. It’s best to use only one redirection method at a time to avoid confusion.

    4. Monitor 404 Errors: Keep an eye on any 404 errors that may arise from users trying to access old URLs. You can monitor these through Rank Math’s 404 Monitor feature.

If you find that some of your redirects are not working as expected, you may need to reconfigure them in Rank Math or check the settings of the other plugin you installed.
