Good day!
I changed an article’s title and changed the URL slug too, hoping the change in the title will help my article to land on page 1 for the targeted keyword.
After that, I submitted Request Index to URL inspection on GSC, thinking it will just overwrite the previous article’s URL.
But when I looked at Google to see if my article shows up for the keyword What does the Bible say about acne?, what showed up on page 2 was the OLD title for my article: What Does the Bible Say on Women’s Acne and Body Image Issues?
The NEW title is What Does the Bible Say About Acne and Body Image Issues? But it doesn’t show up anywhere.Â
Only the article with the OLD title, slug, URL shows up.
But both URLs of the articles of the old and new articles are live.
OLD TITLE:
https://blemishedyetredeemed.com/what-does-the-bible-say-on-womens-acne-and-body-image-issues/
NEW TITLE:Â https://blemishedyetredeemed.com/what-does-the-bible-say-about-acne-and-body-image-issues/
For context, my website is just 3 months old. I’m not very techy and still learning to implement SEO on my writing.
So my questions are these:
1. How do I fix this? I want the article with the NEW title to show up instead? (Or do you recommend I don’t bother with it since it’s on page 2 anyway?)
2. What errors did I make in my process? (Should I refrain from submitting Request Index on URL inspection tool GSC? I am doing this because I found out that even after 2 months my articles are not showing up for targeted keywords. But when I used URL inspection tool, they started to show up either on page 1 or page 2).
3. How do I make a 301 redirect from my old to new url using RankMath?
I hope I explained my situation properly. Thank you for the feedback!
