Status 410 not working for dynamic URLS

    Hello

I am adding *?* to represent all dynamic urls and I select 410 status as all these pages are non existent and will continue to be. They are currently 404 status but they need to be 410. Status checkers still show 404 error.

Even if I enter the actual url, it still returns as a 404 error instead of a 410 although 410 is selected. The redirects are only working on static pages. Please advise.

    Thank you.

  • Hello,

We apologize for the issue you are facing with setting the 410 status code for dynamic URLs. It seems that the redirection settings may not be applying correctly to those URLs.

To troubleshoot this, please ensure that you have followed these steps:

    1. Enable the Redirection Module: Make sure the Redirection module is enabled in Rank Math.
    2. Correctly Configure the Redirection: When adding dynamic URLs, ensure that you are using the correct format in the Source URLs field. For example, if you want to target all dynamic URLs, you might need to use a wildcard or specific patterns that match your dynamic URLs.
    3. Check for Conflicts: Sometimes, other plugins or server settings can interfere with how redirects are processed. Ensure there are no conflicting rules in your .htaccess file or other redirection plugins.
    4. Clear Cache: If you are using any caching plugins, clear the cache after making changes to ensure that the new settings take effect.

If you have done all of this and it still does not work, we recommend replying to this ticket. A human agent from the Rank Math Support team will be able to assist you further with this issue.

Thank you for raising this concern, and we hope to resolve it for you soon!
