    Hi,
I found the same issue we discussed some time ago. The table of contents does not match the post. When it is in DRAFT the table of contents is correct, but when I update/publish the post, the table of contents links to a different post.

I already cleared the cache, updated the plugin, removed the block and added it again

    Hello,

Thank you for contacting us. We apologize for any inconvenience this issue may have caused.

Kindly ensure you are using the latest version of the Rank Math plugin: https://rankmath.com/changelog/free/

If you are kindly try deleting the TOC block and adding it again to see if it helps.

If the issue persists, we might need to take a closer look at your site and its settings.

Please edit the first post on this ticket and include your WordPress & FTP logins in the designated Sensitive Data section.

Please do take a complete backup of your website before sharing the information with us.

It is completely secure and only our support staff has access to that section. If you want, you can use the below plugin to generate a temporary login URL to your website and share that with us instead:

    what is FTP?

I updated the plugin, removed the block, added it back and nothing worked.

    Hello,

The FTP helps our team to check your website files for further investigation.

You can get in touch with your web host to setup the FTP of your website and share the FTP login details in the sensitive data section.

    Looking forward to helping you.

You already have access to the web host, see attached image.

    Hello,

It seems that you are currently using patterns for our TOC block.

If we detach the pattern it starts working fine on the website and this seems related to a recent change in how patterns work in WordPress where the sync patterns will always try to get the data from the original pattern.

If you check the TOC block on that post you shared after detaching it you’ll see that the content is added correctly and showing on the page.

Previously this feature was called reusable patterns but it was changed to synced patterns and it’s not working fine to update blocks on the fly.

Unfortunately, that is outside our control and we can only report the changes in WordPress and how to get around the limitations.

Don’t hesitate to get in touch if you have any other questions.

    A few questions,

#1.- How do I detach the TOC block?

#2.- Do I have to detach all TOC blocks on every single post?

#3.- Will I still be able to use a reusable pattern for a TOC block? Or will all be linked to the original post?

#4.- I do not need to update patters on the fly, I just want to use the same TOC in all posts but without having them linked or synched to the original post. Is this still possible? If yes, how?

    Hello,

    1. Please refer to this screenshot on how to detach a reusable or pattern:

    Rank Math support

    2. Yes, due to the revamp of the reusable blocks and the synced patter, our TOC blocks no longer work properly so you may need to detach all the TOC blocks that are added via pattern with sync enabled.

    3. Currently, reusable patterns (now synced patterns) will always link to the original. To avoid this, you need to detach each instance.

    4. After detaching, try saving the TOC block as a block pattern (not synced) and reuse it manually in other posts without linking.

    Hope that helps.

how do I search for posts that are using the TOC template?

    Hello,

You can use the search page on the frontend to search for the string “table of contents” and you should get the posts where you have used the Block.

    https://www.aquariumsource.com/#search/q=table%20of%20contents

Hope that helps, and please do not hesitate to let us know if you need our assistance with anything else.

    Hello,

Since we did not hear back from you for 15 days, we are assuming that you found the solution. We are closing this support ticket.
