Hello,
We apologize for the issue you are facing with your sitemap and Google indexing. To help you resolve this, we recommend following these steps:
1. Check Your Sitemap
Make sure that your sitemap is generated correctly. You can access it by visiting
https://yourdomainname/sitemap_index.xml
. If it loads properly, then your sitemap is functioning.2. Submit Your Sitemap to Google
To submit your sitemap to Google, follow these steps:
- Sign in to Google Search Console using the account you verified and connected with your website.
- Select your website and click on Sitemaps.
- Enter "sitemap_index.xml" in the Add a new sitemap field and click Submit.
3. Ensure Google Can Crawl Your Site
Check your
robots.txt
file to ensure that you are not blocking Google from crawling your site. You can use the robots.txt testing tool to verify this.4. Wait for Indexing
If your site is new, it may take some time for Google to index it. You can also use our Instant Indexing plugin for Google to help speed up the process.
If you continue to experience issues after following these steps, please reply to this ticket, and a human agent from the Rank Math Support team will assist you further.
Thank you for raising this concern, and we hope to resolve it quickly for you!

Any updates?
Hello,
We checked your sitemap and it is throwing up a 404 page.
Could you please try to follow the steps below and see if that works for you?
1. Flush the Sitemap cache by following this video screencast:
https://i.rankmath.com/pipRDp2. Exclude the Sitemap files of the Rank Math plugin in your caching plugin. The cache could be via a plugin or from the server. For plugins or Cloudflare, please follow this article:
https://rankmath.com/kb/exclude-sitemaps-from-caching/3. If the above steps don’t seem to work, kindly apply the following filter to your site.
add_filter( 'rank_math/sitemap/enable_caching', '__return_false');
Here’s how you can add filter/hook to your WordPress site:
https://rankmath.com/kb/wordpress-hooks-actions-filters/
We also checked your website on Google using the site: operator and can see that only few pages were indexed.
To understand why the website is yet to be crawled or indexed, please check your Google Search Console coverage section to determine any issues reported on your site: https://rankmath.com/kb/url-inspection-api-integration/#presence-on-google and share the screenshot here using this tool.
Meanwhile, we have provided some guides you can follow to ensure your website keeps showing up on Google search results: https://rankmath.com/kb/google-index/
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_YYecHEIwMsPlease note that, according to Google, crawling and indexing can take anywhere from a few hours to a few days/weeks. Be patient and monitor progress using the URL Inspection tool.
