If you check the images, you will notice that I have the robots.txt timeout. Even the hosting almost a year ago said that your robots.txt creates problems. I have been waiting for a solution from you for a long time for the Bluehost hosting.
I could add the robots.txt in the FTP, but then they also suggested the sitemap. However, there it is difficult to create the sitemap properly for free and it would be missing one of the useful features for an SEO plugin: robots.txt + sitemaps.

We tested your robots.txt file and it had a 200 status code and also seems to be working correctly:
Usually, a timeout error indicates an issue with the server and since you stated it has been going on for a while it might be a capacity issue based on your current server. You should resolve this with your host provider.
An alternative is to go ahead with implementing a static robots.txt file since the robots.txt is changed less frequently.
For the sitemap, you can allow it to be cached that way there is less call to the server for it.

In fact I have your solution to not send the sitemap to the cache. I delete your solution from the guide to delete the sitemap cache.

From checking your sitemap the number of pages on your site seems to be less than 200 which shouldn’t cause an issue with the server unless the capacity is really low.
If you want to allow caching for your sitemap just reverse the steps you had taken to exclude it from caching: https://rankmath.com/kb/exclude-sitemaps-from-caching/

I doubt this is the solution, because we had implemented the cache exclusion for similar reasons.
I fear the problem arises that a physical robots.txt file is needed and probably a sitemap as well. I started to have keywords and impressions having a physical robots.txt file. And also Ahrefs did not report time out errors anymore. but I insist that I would like to use the Rank math options, but I have been waiting for your solution for 8 months and more. I would like you to verify, or I will have to use physical files, making your plugin useless.

We checked both your sitemaps and robots.txt file, and we don’t see any issues there and currently, we don’t receive similar issues from other users as well.
If a timeout always occurs, then Google may have also been able to detect that. Can you please submit your sitemap and validate the robots.txt in your Google Search Console?

I stopped looking at sitemap errors a while ago because I was focused on fixing all the issues in Search Console. I thought I was doing too much or double the work.

I confirm o have troubles with sitemaps. I’ve solved troubles of timeouts on Ahrefs.
Hosting told me that ads might have sitemap issues. I didn’t tell them I had sitemap issues.
I mentioned that ads were failing to load and the codes were often 204. Only a few ads are showing. There is a number in the adsense preview, but on my site the number is much lower. It doesn’t matter if I increase the number of adsense.
