Hello,
We apologize for the issue you are facing with Yandex error messages. It seems that the 301 redirect to your homepage might be causing Yandex to encounter issues when trying to access your sitemap. If you have not submitted a sitemap, Yandex may still be attempting to find one based on your website’s structure or previous configurations.
To resolve this, we recommend checking the following:
- Ensure that your sitemap is correctly generated by Rank Math. You can find your sitemap at `https://rankmath.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/09/Add-site-in-Yandex-Webmaster-Tools.jpg.
- Submit your sitemap manually to Yandex Webmaster Tools if it exists. This can help Yandex understand the structure of your site better.
- Review your 301 redirects to ensure they are set up correctly and not interfering with Yandex’s ability to crawl your site.
For more detailed guidance on submitting your website to Yandex, you can refer to our guide on submitting your website to search engines.
If the issue persists, please reply to this ticket, and a human agent from the Rank Math Support team will assist you further.
Thank you for raising this concern!

Hello,
Thank you for reaching out to Rank Math support.
The sitemap in the screenshot you provided is not a Rank Math sitemap and was not generated by Rank Math. It might be from another SEO plugin you used previously. You can speak with your web developer or reach out to the Yandex team to learn more about the origins of the affected sitemap.
Please feel free to let us know if you need help with anything else.
Strangely the link takes me to the sitemap generated by rank math
https://imgur.com/a/CLLZbH2
Can it cause problems? Maybe I have problems with sitemaps and robots.txt generated by plugins or by the hosting?
I asked the hosting months ago, but as usual only a lot of confusion and I do not solve. I alone do not know which ones to delete, I would need help.
Hello,
You are right that the link redirects to the sitemap created by Rank Math but was not created by Rank Math in the first place.
When your Sitemap is properly setup all other sitemap URLs (like /sitemap.xml
for instance) redirect to the correct address /sitemap_index.xml.
It is possible you may have used a different service to generate a sitemap in the past and Yandex had taken note of the address and still tries to access that old address.
Follow this guide to submit the correct sitemap URL(/sitemap_index.xml
) to Yandex: https://yandex.com/support/webmaster/indexing-options/sitemap.html
We hope this helps.
Thanks.
