Pagination pages

    Hello

    I have two questions:

    1. I’ve been advised to put my Blog pagination pages (p2, p3, etc) in INDEX. I understood that to set this in RankMath, I had to go to Titles & Meta → Misc. Pages → Noindex Paginated Single Pages
and set this option to OFF, right?
But what then does the “Do not index subpages” tab, just above, mean? What’s the difference?

    2. I notice that the Blog part of my site doesn’t contain any paginated pages (if I click to “next” page or “previous” page, it’s still the same url, not page 2, page 3, etc.). I don’t know if this is something I set up via Rank Math when I created the site, do you have any idea?

    Thanks a lot!

  • Hello,

We apologize for the issues you are facing. Thank you for raising your concerns.

    1. You are correct that to set your Blog pagination pages (like p2, p3, etc.) to INDEX in Rank Math, you need to go to Titles & Meta → Misc. Pages and set the Noindex Paginated Single Pages option to OFF. This will allow those paginated pages to be indexed by search engines.

The “Do not index subpages” option above it refers to the ability to noindex all subpages of archive pages. If you enable this option, it will prevent all subpages (like paginated archive pages) from being indexed. In summary:

      • Noindex Paginated Single Pages: Controls whether individual paginated pages of a single post are indexed.
      • Do not index subpages: Controls whether all subpages of archive pages are indexed.

So, if you want your paginated blog pages to be indexed, ensure that Noindex Paginated Single Pages is OFF and Do not index subpages is OFF as well.

    2. Regarding the issue where your Blog section does not contain any paginated pages, it could be due to how the theme or the settings in Rank Math were configured when the site was created. If clicking "next" or "previous" does not change the URL, it might indicate that the pagination is not set up correctly or that your theme is using a different method for displaying posts. You may want to check your theme settings or consult the theme documentation for more information on pagination.

If you have further questions or need assistance with specific settings, feel free to reply to this ticket, and a human agent from the Rank Math Support team will assist you further.

    Thank you for your understanding!
