  • Hello,

I apologize for the inconvenience you are experiencing with the 403 Forbidden error on the IndexNow Instant Indexing page. I see that you have already tried changing the API key and uploading an api.txt file via cPanel, but the issue persists.

To further troubleshoot this issue, I recommend checking the API key location within Rank Math to ensure it is accessible to search engines. Here are the steps to follow:

    1. Log in to your WordPress dashboard.
    2. Navigate to Rank Math SEO → Instant Indexing → IndexNow API Settings.
    3. Click on the Check Key button to verify if the API key is accessible.

If the API key is still not accessible, please reply to this ticket, and a human agent from the Rank Math Support team will assist you further.

Thank you for your understanding and patience.

    Hello,

Attempting to troubleshoot your plugins is causing a site error, so we were unable to test for a plugin conflict.

Please perform the test yourself. You can do this by deactivating all your plugins and activating a WordPress default theme, then try using the IndexNow API again to see if the error persists. You can use loom.com to do a screen record of the process.

Regarding your previous response, please note that the IndexNow API is used for sending your URLs to Bing and Yahoo. To submit to the Google API, you have to select Google when manually submitting a URL using the Instant Index console or set up the Google API settings to automatically send your posts to Google API.

Looking at your settings, we can see that you have already set up the Google API and we can confirm that it is working fine.

The 403 error is only happening to the IndexNow API for Bing and Yahoo. But please note that submitting a URL to any of the APIs does not guarantee the post will be indexed instantly – although that is the case for the majority of the case, we should also clarify that Google, Bing, and Yahoo can decide not to crawl or index your URL for any reason, but when they do, they’ll let you know why.

Thank you for your patience and cooperation. We are looking forward to hearing back from you.
