Hello,
I’m sorry to hear that you are facing issues with the sitemap setup on your website while using Rank Math. It seems like the sitemap.xml is not working correctly and is showing a white page. Additionally, you mentioned encountering an error message "The link you followed has expired. Please try again." when trying to save changes with Rank Math.
To address the sitemap issues, let’s troubleshoot the problem step by step:
-
Sitemap Showing White Page:
- If the sitemap is displaying a white page, it could be due to conflicts with other plugins or themes. You can use the Health Check plugin to identify the conflicting plugin or theme.
- Try flushing the sitemaps cache and excluding it from caching plugins as described in this guide.
- Ensure there are no static files with the same name as your sitemap file (sitemap_index.xml) on your server.
-
Error Message "The link you followed has expired":
- This error usually occurs due to a timeout issue. You can try increasing the PHP execution time and memory limit in your WordPress settings or server configuration.
- Clearing your browser cache or using a private/incognito window might also help resolve this error.
Since the issue seems complex, I recommend following the steps mentioned above. If you need further assistance, please reply to this ticket, and a human agent from the Rank Math Support team will assist you promptly.
Thank you for your patience and for choosing Rank Math for your SEO needs.
Closing spiel.

Hello,
Thank you for contacting Rank Math support.
Have you tried flushing and generating your sitemap using these steps? If you have but it didn’t help, then you can share access to your website with us so we can help investigate the issue further.
Thank you for your patience and cooperation
Hello,
After investigating further, it appears the WWW version of your sitemap is working fine, the white page is only displaying for the non-WWW version.
Since the non-WWW version of your website is the main version, you should be able to resolve this by redirecting all WWW URLs to the non-WWW version – i.e. https://www.sine.coop/examplepage will redirect to https://sine.coop/examplepage.
You can do this by adding the following code to your .htaccess file.
RewriteEngine On RewriteCond %{HTTP_HOST} www.example.com RewriteRule (.*) https://example.com/$1 [R=301,L]Navigate to Rank Math > General Settings > Edit .htaccess and add the above code just below the
#END WordPressline. If you need help adding the code, you can share access to your website with us and we’ll be happy to add it for you.
Thank you for choosing Rank Math
so if i go inconginto mode it works but if i go through siteground and rank math seo, it shows the white page, is there a reason for the white page and is there a way to resolve this issue?
Thank you so much for your help,
Drew
Hello,
The code you added to your
.htaccessfile is different from the one we shared but it should still work. Still, your sitemap is not redirecting to the non-WWW version when we checked just now.In this case, please share access to your website with us so we can help investigate the issue further.
Thank you for choosing Rank Math
Hello,
I have updated the sensitive data as requested. Can you please check further?
s******@r*********** is the account i added as an adminstrator, please be responsible i put trust in you, and thank you for your help in resolving my issue.
Thank you.
Hello,
Please note that the correct version of your sitemap is https://sine.coop/sitemap_index.xml
Since your site’s preferred version is non-WWW, you should submit the https://sine.coop/sitemap_index.xml to your GSC account, as it is working fine and Google will be able to read it.
Hope that helps and please do not hesitate to let us know if you need our assistance with anything else.
Understood thank you for the information
is there a way to fix the site to always go to the non-www version?
additionally when i go to google search console it says only 1 page out of 13 is index, is this bad and how would i fix it?
I appreciate the cooperation and help!
Hello,
You can reach out to your hosting company for help redirecting the WWW version to the non-WWW version. Please let them make sure the sitemap is redirected as well.
When you submit the correct version of your sitemap to Google, your number of indexed pages should increase.
Thank you for choosing Rank Math
