  • Hello,

I apologize for the issue you are facing with your sitemap not showing on the dedicated URL and resulting in a 404 error. To resolve this problem, please follow these steps:

    1. Flush Permalinks: Sometimes, flushing permalinks can resolve sitemap issues. You can do this by going to your WordPress admin area, navigating to Settings → Permalinks, and hitting the “Save Changes” button even if you didn’t make any changes on the page.

    2. Validate Your Sitemap: Ensure that your sitemap is correctly configured by validating it using the Validate XML Sitemap tool. If there are no issues detected, it should return a success message.

    3. Ensure Sitemap Location: If you manually created the sitemap, make sure it is located in the root folder of your WordPress installation. The correct path should be https://yourdomainname.com/sitemap_index.xml.

If these steps do not resolve the issue, please reply to this ticket, and a human agent from the Rank Math Support team will assist you further.

Thank you for bringing this to our attention. We are here to help you with any further assistance you may need.

    Best regards.
