On the staging website, all pages are set to nofollow and noindex, while on the live website, some pages are indexed and followed, while others are noindex and nofollow. If I want to change a page from index, follow to noindex, nofollow on the live website, should I make this change on the staging site or directly on the live site?

  • Hello,

If you want to change a page from being indexed and followed to noindex and nofollow on the live website, you should make this change directly on the live site. Since the staging website is typically used for testing purposes and may not reflect the exact setup of the live site, it’s best to apply such changes directly to the live website to ensure that the correct settings are in place for search engine indexing and crawling.

If you need any assistance or encounter any issues while making this change on your live website, feel free to reach out to our dedicated support team for further guidance.

Thank you for your understanding and proactive approach to optimizing your website for search engines.

    Have a great day!
