    Dear Reader,
I hope this text finds you well.

I recently migrated my website from Yoast SEO to Rank Math and reaching you for your support.
I love Rank Math in general but unclear SCHEMA for pages making me bit frustrated. Yoast had ‘Web Pages” schema for the Pages, which I can’t see in Rank Math and unsure what is the most suitable schema for pages.

Currently, everything under my website (www.edwiseconsulting.com.au) has ‘Article’ schema. While it may be appropriate for ‘Articles’ and Blogs, I don’t think it’s appropriate for Pages.

    can you please help!

    Regards,
    Nick

  • Hello,

Thank you for reaching out to us regarding the Schema for your website after migrating from Yoast SEO to Rank Math. We appreciate your feedback and are here to assist you.

In Rank Math, the most suitable Schema for regular website pages, like the ones on your website http://www.edwiseconsulting.com.au, would be the "WebPage" Schema. This Schema is specifically designed for general web pages that are not articles or blog posts.

To update the Schema for your pages to "WebPage" in Rank Math, you can follow these steps:

    1. Open the Pages in your WordPress admin area.
    2. Select the Pages you want to update the Schema for.
    3. From the Bulk Actions drop-down list, select Set Schema: WebPage.
    4. Click the Apply button to update the Schema to "WebPage."

If you need further assistance or have any more questions, please feel free to ask. We are here to help you make the transition smoother and ensure your website’s Schema is correctly set up.

    Best regards,
    Rank Math Support Team

I can’t see the ‘WebPage’ schema under Rank Math. Schema related options under ‘Bulk Action’ includes – Set Schema: Default (Article), and Set Schema: None

    Hello,

Please note that the WebPage and other default Schemas are added in the front end, they will not be visible in the Schema tab of our plugin’s meta box.

It is already added to your site automatically, so you won’t need to add them individually.

The webPage schema is nested under the Article schema. You can use the following tool to check the Schemas: https://validator.schema.org/

    Looking forward to helping you.

    Hi Reinelle,
Truly appreciate your time and response.

For a non technical person like myself, can you please suggest if I replace the currently selected SCHEMA from “Article” for pages to No Schema?

In search engines, I’ve seen a change in the way Site Link search box is presented now. Previously all the pages were coming under the Homepage in search results. Now only Homepage appears in search. Other pages appear separately in search.

    Hello,

Usually, we recommend the default “Article” schema for generic pages since it is the schema that best describes the content.

Also, if you don’t apply any Schema type to a page, our plugin considers that you don’t want to add any Schema to that page and doesn’t apply the default Schema.

Lastly, it is not possible to remove or control which links or titles are shown on the search results under the Sitelinks as Google chooses them automatically.

However, you can refer to Google’s guidelines for Sitelinks:
