Hi and thank you for an awesome plugin!

I’m using Rank Math with WPML and have an Advanced Custom Fields field that I’ve translated with WPML string translation. I want the translation to be captured using %customfield(log_procedure)% and put in the title when users are on the translated page. The variable works fine on the primary language but on the secondary language the variable doesn’t return the translated string.

I’ve followed the steps in WPML to set title and desription to copy once in the the WPML setting Custom Fields Translation but it still doesn’t work.

  • Hello,

Thank you for reaching out to us with your concern about the %customfield(log_procedure)% variable not getting translated in the title of the page when using Rank Math with WPML.

To ensure that the custom field content is correctly translated and displayed in the title on the translated page, you need to make sure that the custom field is set to be copied once in the WPML settings. However, it seems like you have already followed these steps without success.

Since the issue persists even after setting the translation to copy once in WPML, I recommend checking if the custom field is correctly set up for translation within WPML. Additionally, ensure that the custom field is properly registered and accessible for translation in both the primary and secondary languages.

If the issue persists, please provide more details about how the custom field is set up and how it is being translated with WPML so that we can further assist you in resolving this matter.

Feel free to provide more information or screenshots related to the setup of the custom field and its translation process for us to better understand and assist you effectively.

Should the setting in WPML be Same fields across languages or Different fields across languages?

    Hello,

I have updated the sensitive data as requested. Can you please check further?

    Thank you.

    Hello,

The CPT you are using is set to not be translatable according to the WPML settings.

You need to set those pages to translatable so that each language gets its own ID so our plugin can fetch the data for the custom field for the specific ID of the language.

Don’t hesitate to get in touch if you have any other questions.

    Hello,

Since we did not hear back from you for 15 days, we are assuming that you found the solution. We are closing this support ticket.

    Thank you.
