Hi,
I am facing the issue that my (new designed) homepage shows up as no index even having set all required fileds, like described. For you reference I add a link to a screencast where I show directly on page what I mean.

Do you have any idea what else I could do to get the homepage being indexed, as well?
Thanks.
Regards
Juergen

Hello,
I apologize for the issue you are facing with your homepage being marked as noindex. Thank you for sharing the screencast to demonstrate the problem.
To resolve the issue of your homepage being set to noindex, please follow these steps:
-
Check the Rank Math settings for your homepage:
- Ensure that the "Index" option is selected in the Rank Math settings for your homepage. You can do this by editing the homepage in WordPress and checking the Rank Math meta box to confirm that the "Index" checkbox is selected.
-
Verify the Search Engine Visibility settings in WordPress:
- Navigate to your WordPress admin dashboard.
- Go to Settings > Reading.
- Make sure that the "Search engine visibility" option is unchecked. If it is checked, search engines will be discouraged from indexing your website.
-
Resubmit your sitemap in Google Search Console:
- After making the necessary changes, resubmit your sitemap in Google Search Console. You can remove your sitemap and submit it again following the instructions provided in this tutorial: Submit sitemap to Google Search Console.
By following these steps, you should be able to resolve the issue of your homepage being marked as noindex. If you need further assistance or have any other questions, please feel free to reach out to our dedicated support team through this link: Rank Math Support.
Thank you for reaching out, and we appreciate your patience as we work to resolve this issue for you.
Best regards.

Thank you for contacting us and sorry for any inconvenience that might have been caused due to that.
Please head over to your WordPress Dashboard > Rank Math > Status & Tools > Database Tools, and from there click on the button āRecalculate Scoreā, and wait for it to process and see if that helps to resolve the issue.
If the issue persists, then we might need to take a closer look at the settings. Please edit the first post on this ticket and include your WordPress & FTP logins in the designated Sensitive Data section.

It is completely secure and only our support staff has access to that section. If you want, you can use the below plugin to generate a temporary login URL to your website and share that with us instead:

Hello,
I have updated the sensitive data as requested. Can you please check further?
Thank you.
Hi,
I Trend like suggested but no changes. Therefore gave you access via the sensitive data area.Additionally to the missing score it seems as well that crawlers do see the page as no index and do not evaluate meta data (like the snippet for the search engine).
Thanks for your support.
Hello,
This is just a visual bug but the actual data on the page when it’s loaded or crawled by the search engines shows the correct robots meta settings and it’s set to be indexed.
To debug the situation further we would need FTP access to see where the function that checks if a page is indexable is failing.
Please share that in the sensitive data section so we can make changes to the plugin files to fully debug the issue.
Thank you.

Hi Miguel,
hope you can find the issue now with the FTP access.
Thanks.

JuergenHello,
Sorry for the delay in handling this issue but we have some updates on this matter now.
The issue is that you are excluding the ID of the homepage from the sitemap so the page ID is being detected as not indexable by the plugin and show that in the SEO details on the backend.
We have removed the ID from the excluded list under WordPress Dashboard > Rank Math SEO > Sitemap Settings and it now shows correctly.
As we mentioned, this is only shown as “noindex” on the backend because it’s seeing the page as not indexable since the exclusion from the sitemap triggers that.
Don’t hesitate to get in touch if you have any other questions.
