Issue with Product Title Display in Google SERP

#816519
  • Hello,

I am the manager of [puzzlesbois.com](https://puzzlesbois.com), a website specializing in wooden puzzles.

I am currently facing an issue with the display of my product titles in Google’s SERP. Whenever one of my product pages appears on Google, the title always includes the name of my site after the product name. For example:

    – A user searches for “wooden fox puzzle”
    – In Google’s suggestions, my site appears as follows: “wooden fox puzzle – puzzlesbois”
    – However, I would like only the product name to be displayed: “wooden fox puzzle”

In the Rank Math settings for the product page, I have specified only the product name without including my site’s name.

I would like to know how to correct this issue so that Google displays only the product title as specified in Rank Math.

    Thank you for your assistance.

    Best regards,

    Pereira carlos

  • Hello,

Thank you for reaching out with your concern about the display of your product titles in Google’s SERP. To ensure that Google displays only the product title without appending your site name, you need to make sure that the structured data for your website includes the correct information.

Here are the steps you can follow to address this issue:

    1. Add a Site Name to Your Website Structured Data:

      • If you have Rank Math installed, navigate to WordPress Dashboard → Rank Math SEO and enable the Schema module.
      • Head over to Rank Math SEO → Titles & Meta → Local SEO and fill in the required fields, including the Website Name with the product name.
      • Ensure that the structured data includes the correct information as per your product title.
    2. Request Google to Reindex Your Homepage:

      • Navigate to the Google Search Console and submit your homepage URL for reindexing.
      • Click on REQUEST INDEXING to prompt Google to update its index with the corrected information.

By following these steps, you can help Google display only the product title without appending your site name in the SERP. If you need further assistance or have any more questions, feel free to contact our dedicated support team here.

    Best regards.

    Hello,

Thank you for contacting us and sorry for any inconvenience that might have been caused due to that.

We’ve checked your page and we can see Rank Math is generating the meta description properly. You can also check by using https://rankmath.com/tools/meta-tag-analyzer/ and https://www.heymeta.com/

However, please note that nowadays, Google does that very commonly. Even when everything is fine, Google may choose to display a different meta title for your search query result. Google may skip the custom metadata you have set and instead display something from the page’s content that better matches the search intent.

    Thank you.
