    Hello,

I have RM on a few sites and the view in the WP Dashboard Widget is different between the sites – Is ‘Total Clicks’ the same metric as ‘Search Traffic’ ?

Is there a settings section in RM for what the widget displays so I can have them all looking the same?

  • Hello,

I apologize for the confusion you are experiencing with the Rank Math WordPress Dashboard Widget on your different sites. The "Total Clicks" metric in the widget is not the same as "Search Traffic."

To ensure consistency in the widget display across all your sites, you can adjust the settings within Rank Math. Unfortunately, there isn’t a specific setting within Rank Math to customize the WordPress Dashboard Widget directly.

However, you can manage what data is displayed in the widget by configuring the SEO Analytics settings within each individual site’s Rank Math settings. By ensuring that the same metrics are selected for display in the SEO Analytics section of each site, you can have a consistent view in the WordPress Dashboard Widget.

If you need further assistance or have more questions, please feel free to ask. Thank you for reaching out!

    Hello,

Thank you for the quick response.
What is the difference between the two?

And what are the steps to get to the SEO Analytics settings and do you have a guide on what settings result in specific things being displayed in the dashboard widget?

    Hello,

Could you please confirm if you’re using Rank Math PRO on your other websites?

We have asked since on the Free version of the Rank Math plugin, we don’t fetch your Google Analytics Data. We only fetch the data from your Google Search Console.

On the free version, Rank Math would fetch the Total Clicks from the Google Search Console and include it in the overview.

However, for PRO users, Rank Math would fetch the Search Traffic and display it on the widget. The free version does not fetch any data from Google Analytics as it only gets the Google Search Console data in the free version.

    Looking forward to helping you.

At the moment I have Pro on 1 site.
The others are regular. But even with those there are some stats that are missing that I would like to see.

And so what is the difference between clicks and search traffic stats exactly?

    Thanks.

    Hello,

The Total Search Clicks refer to the number of times people saw your results and clicked on the result on Google SERPs.

Meanwhile, Total Search Traffic refers to the total traffic generated on your website as a direct result of people clicking on your search results. This includes all search clicks plus the additional page views those clicks generated. This metric is a broader term and usually includes Total Clicks but can also encompass other aspects such as the number of sessions originating from search engines.

It seems that you’re currently using the Rank Math PRO plugin, but the account you have used to open this ticket is a Free account.

Can you please search and forward a receipt from FastSpring.com so we can locate your PRO account and verify it?

Hope that helps, and please do not hesitate to let us know if you need our assistance with anything else.

    Hello Ike,

Thank you for explaining the differences.

As I have about 4 sits in the free version & don’t see the same info in the dashboard of those 4 & I have started this from one of those free accounts can you please provide me the instructions on the settings I need to look at in my free accounts to adjust the dashboard?

    Thanks.

    Hello,

Please note that on the Free version of the Rank Math plugin, we don’t fetch your Google Analytics Data. We only fetch the data from your Google Search Console.

On the free version, Rank Math would fetch the Total Clicks from the Google Search Console and include it in the overview. However, for PRO users, Rank Math would fetch the Search Traffic and display it.

However, if the data is not being fetched correctly, you need to delete the old data and fetch the fresh data from Google. This is a simple process that you can do by following these steps.

Make sure you have the latest version of the Rank Math plugin installed on your site. You can check the latest version here: https://rankmath.com/changelog/free/

    1. Head over to WP Dashboard > Rank Math > Tools & Status > Database Tools and click the Rebuild Index button.

    2. After that, head over to WordPress Dashboard > Rank Math > General Settings > Analytics tab, click the Delete Data button and then click the Update Data Manually

    3. This will start the new data fetch from Google. You can reload the page to see the notice related to the import process.

    4. Once the process is complete. Please re-check the Analytics page and all the data should be showing up correctly.

You can refer to this guide for reference: https://rankmath.com/kb/zero-search-traffic-error/

However, if it does not, please check if there is a pending Scheduled Action by heading over to WordPress dashboard > Tools > Scheduled Actions > Pending or you can try visiting the following URL:

    https://yourdomain.com/wp-admin/tools.php?page=action-scheduler&status=pending

Then Run the rank_math/analytics/data_fetch scheduled action and wait for the data fetch to complete.

This is how it should look like:

Once done, please allow Rank Math a while to fetch data from Google and you should be able to see the updated data.

You might see other actions that are scheduled to RUN as well, it is quite normal and you don’t have to worry.

Let us know how that goes. Looking forward to helping you.

That’s super helpful- thank you 🙏!
I’ve done the steps & will see the restyles over the next few weeks.
