Hello,
Thank you for reaching out with your question about URL permalinks in Rank Math for a Bulgarian website. When it comes to creating URLs in a different language like Bulgarian, but using Latin letters instead of Cyrillic, it is a common practice to ensure the URLs are more concise and user-friendly.
Using Latin letters in place of Cyrillic characters to create URLs will not affect how search engines index your content. Search engines like Google can understand and index URLs created with Latin characters representing Bulgarian words just as effectively as those created with Cyrillic characters.
By using Latin letters, you can indeed shorten the URLs, making them more concise and easier to read for users. This practice aligns with SEO best practices, as shorter and descriptive URLs tend to perform better in search engine results.

Best regards.

Also I wanted to ask will the url affect the ranking as the moment I type the url with latin the rank math score drops as it doesn’t find it in the url ?
Hello,
Thank you for contacting Rank Math support.
The URL length isn’t a huge ranking factor. Since your site’s content is in Bulgarian, you should use the slug in the same language and can ignore the URL length recommendation. To pass the test, you will have to make sure that the slug includes the exact keyword.
