    Hello,

I want to import all redirections from Rank Math into another redirection plugin (called ‘redirection’ from John Godley). The outbound plugin is collecting correctly the good number of redirections (in my example 615) but when finalizing the data import, it is finally 656 redirections that have been imported (instead of 615).

Can you please confirm that the import from Rank Math to another plugin is only concerning ‘active’ redirection ? Or if not, can you confirm that all inactive redirection as mark as ‘inactive’ in the final report, which is not the case today ?

    Many thanks,

  • Hello,

Thank you for reaching out to us regarding the redirection data import from Rank Math to another plugin.

When you export redirection data from Rank Math to another plugin, all redirections, including both active and inactive ones, are typically exported. However, the discrepancy in the number of imported redirections could be due to various reasons such as duplicate entries, formatting differences, or other technical factors.

To ensure a smooth transfer of redirection data, we recommend checking the exported file for any duplicates or inconsistencies before importing it into the ‘Redirection’ plugin by John Godley. Additionally, it’s essential to verify if the inactive redirections are correctly marked as ‘inactive’ in the final report to avoid any discrepancies in the import process.

If you encounter any further issues or need assistance with the redirection data transfer, please feel free to provide more details or reach out to our support team directly by clicking here. We are here to help you with any concerns you may have.

Thank you for your understanding and cooperation.

    Hello,

Is it possible to have a look into my website ?

    Thanks

    Hello,

    Thank you for contacting support.

The import to another plugin is handled by that same plugin where you are importing to, so you would need to contact the support of the Redirection plugin to find exactly what they are importing.

If you were importing from Redirection to Rank Math, then that would be our responsibility.

Don’t hesitate to get in touch if you have any other questions.

    Hello Miguel,

Thanks for your reply which left me a bit frustrated I have to say.

Before talking about other’s responsibility, can you confirm that the redirection status (active/inactive) is correctly provided amongst other data before importation ?

    Thanks

    Hello,

We have a column in our tables called status that is used to track whether the redirection is active or not but it’s entirely the prerogative of the plugin that is importing the data to check whether or not a particular redirection has the active state.

As we said, we cannot control how other plugins perform their imports, we can only control the way we import data into our plugin from others. This is true for any other plugin that handles the import of data.

Don’t hesitate to get in touch if you have any other questions.
