Thanks a lot for your query and we are so sorry about the trouble this must have caused.
WP 5.5 brought a new error (not actually an error) that is not covered much and is related to the new jQuery version in the core. That is breaking many old themes and plugins. You have to stick with the developer that updates their products regularly or check with them and ensure they are compatible with WP 5.5
To ensure this is not an issue with Rank Math, please keep only Rank Math and the default Twenty Twenty Theme enabled and then check the Rank Math options. They should be working fine.

Mac/Apple: Apple + R or command + R

I just found a strange phenomenon
I opened an existing entry, edited this entry and pressed the “aktualisieren” button

I opened “Vorschau der Änderungen” in a new tab, looked how the changes worked and switched back to the opened editing entry. The button “Aktualisieren” changed to update

Could you please check if this is caused by Rank math. To determine that, please keep Rank math active and perform the same steps to replicate the issue. If the issue is with Rank math, let us know. Assuming you are using the latest version of all the plugins, themes and WordPress (please update if not yet), it would seem like a conflict with one of the plugins or the theme you are using.

Sorry that I did not myself clear. All the themes are up to date and I know that the last described problem is a theme conflict with no plugins running.
