    Dear RankMath Support Team,

I hope this message finds you well.

I am currently in the process of transitioning my existing WordPress website to a freshly revamped version. The new version utilizes a custom-built theme instead of the previous WordPress theme. As part of the transition to the new platform, I am keen to transfer all the SEO settings and data, including meta titles, meta descriptions, sitemap settings, indexing preferences, and any other configurations made through the RankMath SEO plugin.

I have explored the option of utilizing the import and export feature within RankMath SEO plugin to migrate this data. However, I would appreciate some clarification on whether this method will effectively transfer all relevant information, such as meta titles, descriptions, focus keyphrases from individual pages and articles, and other settings.

Could you kindly guide me through the process or provide any necessary steps to ensure a seamless migration of RankMath SEO data to my new website? Your assistance in this matter would be greatly appreciated.

Thank you for your attention to this request. Looking forward to your prompt response.

    Warm Regards,
    Bilal

Will the import and export tool only get the dynamic descriptions and titles set through the RankMath SEO settings? Or the custom metadata of individual pages and articles as well?

    Hello,

    Thank you for reaching out.

The export tool covers all the settings you have set using the Rank Math plugin. These include settings for Global, Local, and Social Meta, titles for your homepage, archives, and other pages. It covers all the settings that you would find and configure in the Titles and Meta settings in Rank Math.

To use the export tool, you can go to Rank Math > Status & Tools > Import & Export. You have the option to select from the following options.

However, to import and export the SEO metadata of posts, terms, and even users, you will have to use the import & export CSV which is available on the PRO version of the plugin.

We have shared a link to an article with additional information on the import & export feature.

    We hope this helps.

Do not hesitate to reach out if you have any other questions.

    Hi,
Thank you for your help, I really appreciate it. Can I do both settings export and CSV export without overwriting the data?
Should I first import the RankMath Setting file and then import the CSV or vice versa?

    Hello,

    Thank you for your patience.

It does not matter which you will import first as those data are different from each other.

The CSV data per post takes priority, so the metadata will override the ones you have set in Titles and Meta settings.

    Looking forward to helping you.
