  • Hello,

I apologize for the issue you are facing with the title attribute on images generated from popular posts. To fix this, you can adjust the title attribute settings in Rank Math.

    1. Navigate to Rank Math SEO → General Settings → Images.
    2. Enable the Add missing TITLE attributes option.
    3. Set the desired Title attribute format to ensure the correct titles are added to your images automatically.

Here is a screenshot to guide you through the process:

    Enable Add missing TITLE attributes

If you suspect incorrect alt attributes as well, you can follow a similar process for alt attributes by enabling the Add missing ALT attributes option and setting the Alt attribute format accordingly.

If you need further assistance, feel free to reply here, and a human agent from our support team will assist you promptly.

Thank you for bringing this to our attention.

    Hello,

    Thank you for contacting support.

This can only be controlled by our plugin if those images are inside the filter the_content and it’s likely that what is inside that filter is some sort of shortcode or function to then generate the images in the frontend.

That means that it would be impossible for our plugin to correctly set the ALT or title on those images coming from that plugin.

Don’t hesitate to get in touch if you have any other questions.

Yes, it’s a shortcode for popular posts. Could you do something about it? it’s useful to have the title tag, but on that plugin it performs badly.

Since I add alts for each image, I disabled the alt and title attributes. So I have no problems with Popular Posts images. But will they have empty alt attributes, to indicate that they are decorative images?

    Hello,

I can check that the images have the ALT tags you used in the Media Library. Since our plugin is adding unwanted values, you can keep our Image SEO options disabled and manually add the ALT tags.

Even the images used for decorative purpose should have the ALT text for better on-page SEO.

Hope that helps and please do not hesitate to let us know if you need our assistance with anything else.

I thought that by disabling the alt attribute of Rank math, it added the empty value. From your words it doesn’t seem like that. Do I enable the alt attribute again and delete all its contents?

As for the title attribute, it was interesting to add the description of the games, as I removed their excerpt from the popular categories and posts. The problem is always the popular posts. It would be great if we could find a solution for his shortcodes.

    Hello,

Our plugin only adds the ALT attributes when they are missing. Since the images have the ALT text in the Media Library, our Image SEO options won’t affect that, and it will be added to the images. You don’t have to remove anything. You can keep the current setup.

For the title attribute, please confirm the variable you used for the Title Attribute settings of our plugin.

    Looking forward to helping you.

It is a shortcode for widely shared posts, yes. Could you take action in this regard? Although the title tag is helpful, that plugin doesn’t work well with it.

Yep, Popular Post is a widely used plugin and it seems like rank math doesn’t provide support. Trying to figure out what the best solution is for me or if Rank Math will do anything.

    Hello,

As long as the images are found inside the post_content, Rank Math will add the attributes there if found empty, and the contents from Popular post are not excluded at this point since they seem to be part of the post_content.

However, your idea of excluding images (maybe via class or id) in our SEO Image module may come in handy in the future. If this is something we can add, we will surely do so.

Don’t hesitate to get in touch with us if you have any other questions.
