Hello,
I’m sorry to hear that you’re experiencing issues with your website’s sitemap. It’s important to ensure that your sitemap is set up correctly to avoid any indexing issues in Google Search Console.
To troubleshoot the sitemap issue, you can follow these steps:
-
Check if Your Sitemap is Accessible: You can use the httpstatus.io tool to check the accessibility of your sitemap URL and identify any issues preventing it from being accessed by the Googlebot.
-
Validate Your Sitemap: Use the Validate XML Sitemap tool to confirm that your sitemap is correctly configured.
-
Ensure the Sitemap is Located in the Root Folder: Make sure that your sitemap is installed in the root folder of your WordPress installation.
-
Ensure Your Posts Are Set to Index: Check if your posts are set to index in the Rank Math SEO → Titles & Meta settings.
-
Flush the Cache: If your sitemap appears outdated, you can flush the sitemap cache by navigating to Rank Math SEO → Sitemap Settings and increasing the value of the Links Per Sitemap.
-
Exclude the Sitemap From Caching: Ensure that your sitemap is not being cached by following the steps outlined in our tutorial on how to exclude sitemaps from caching.
-
Add the Correct Version of Your Sitemap to Google Search Console: Make sure you’ve added the correct URL variation of your site to Google Search Console.
If you’ve completed these steps and are still facing issues, please feel free to reply here, and a human agent from the Rank Math Support team will assist you further.
I hope this helps!
