You can do that by showing the last update date on your posts. I am not sure where the option in your theme might be for that but please check your theme options.
If you can’t find the option, please contact your theme provider.
Once the date is showing up on the posts, Google will pick that up and show the date in the SERPs for your website.

No, it is not important. For some niches, it is a disadvantage while for some it can improve CTR.

No, that will not do anything.
