  • Hello,

We’re sorry to hear that you’re experiencing issues with the open graph tag not displaying the image on your website. We understand the importance of this matter, especially as you’ve recently shifted to Rank Math for better SEO management.

To address this issue, we recommend checking if the open graph tags are pushed towards the end of the source code. If you’re using minification on your website and your cache plugin is inputting too much inline CSS into your page source, it may push the open graph tags way too down your page’s source code.

You can also check if the URL and open graph image are accessible and if the og:image tag is added in the source code. Additionally, ensure that the image dimensions and format are compatible with Facebook’s requirements.

If you’ve already checked these steps and the issue persists, please feel free to reach out to our support team directly from here, and we will be more than happy to help.

We hope this information helps resolve the issue. Thank you for choosing Rank Math for your SEO management, and we appreciate your patience as we work to resolve this concern.

    Best regards.

Please help in resolution as I am unable to figure out why image doesn’t appear when sharing anything on social media !!

    Hello,

    Thank you for your patience.

Upon checking your homepage, the featured image you’re using is not proportioned to Facebook and other social media images’ recommended resolution.

In this case, please upload your default Opengraph image in Rank Math > Titles & Meta > Global Meta > OpenGraph Thumbnail:
    https://rankmath.com/kb/open-graph-image-not-displaying/#default-opengraph-image

Also, please ensure that the featured image you’re using is as close as 1200 x 630 pixels, and the image file format you are using is only between jpeg, gif, or png as per Opengraph Standards.

    Hope that helps.

    Hello

Thanks for the response, We currently don’t have a default image for opengraph, if you could help on what it is that should come as featured image would be helpful

    Thank you

    cheers !!

    Hello,

You can upload any image on the Opengraph thumbnail and ensure the image resolution is close to the recommended size above.

You can also resize your homepage banner and use it as the default Opengraph image.

    Hope that helps.

    Hello

Got your response but when we share any article and that article has its featured image, will the featured image shows up or the open graph image will show like when generally shared in WhatsApp or other messaging apps ?

    Thank you in Advance

    Hello,

Please note that Rank Math selects an image for the og:image property based on the priority.

    1. Rank Math looks in the Social tab if there’s any image set for the OpenGraph image. If so, It ignores the fallback/default OpenGraph image, featured image, or the image in the post content.

    2. If there’s no image set in the social media/social tab, Rank Math looks for the featured image set in your post and ignores the rest of the settings as mentioned in #1.

    3. If no featured image is found, Rank Math looks into the post content. If there’s any image is found, Rank Math ignores the fallback image in settings.

    4. Lastly, if Rank Math doesn’t find any featured image or images in post content, it sets the image from the settings default OpenGraph image (if you’ve set any).

However, as we mentioned above the featured image you’re currently using on your homepage doesn’t meet the required size and that’s why Rank Math is not able to generate the og:image.

Please don’t hesitate to let us know if you have any other questions.

    Thank you.
