updated sitemap not being read by Google

I’m sorry to hear that you’re experiencing issues with Google Search Console not reading the updated sitemap of your site. It can be frustrating when search engines don’t pick up the latest changes.

One option you have is to check the last crawl date on the sitemap in the Google Search Console. This will help you determine if Google has seen the updated sitemap yet. If the last crawl date is not after you’ve published the post, then Google might not have seen the updated sitemap yet. In this case, it’s best to be patient and wait for Google to crawl the sitemap.

If you don’t want to wait, you can also delete the sitemap from the Google Search Console and then add it again. To do this, click on the three dots in the top-right corner of the sitemap section and choose the “Remove sitemap” option. Once removed, you can add it again by entering the sitemap URL and clicking the “SUBMIT” button.

As of now, Google should allow you to remove the sitemap. See the screenshot below with my recent check on the GSC dashboard:
