I have noticed that most of my new posts are not appearing on the Google search engine. This made me troubleshoot the cause and realize that my sitemap shows zero pages discovered. I don’t know the cause. Please help me.

    Hello,

Thank you for contacting Rank Math. We are sorry you are facing this issue.

First, let’s explain why Search Console is showing 0 pages discovered for your sitemap. This does not mean that Google is ignoring your sitemap or that your pages are not being indexed.

It simply means that Google has already found your pages from another source, such as a link from another site or a social media post.

Your sitemap is just one of the ways that Google can discover your pages, but it is not the only one. As long as your pages are being indexed, you don’t need to worry about how they are discovered.

Your sitemap is still useful because it helps Google find your new or updated content faster. You can read more about this issue here: https://rankmath.com/kb/zero-discovered-urls-through-sitemap/

Also, if there are any issues reported on your URLs that prevent them from being indexed or affect your rankings, then you should see them in the coverage section report of your GSC:
    https://support.artlogic.net/hc/en-gb/articles/360016851260-Google-Search-Console-errors-and-coverage-issues

Concerning your posts not appearing on Google, please kindly share your website URL so we check from our end.

We are looking forward to helping you.

Thanks for the exposition. My url is: https://www.wholegadgets.com

    Hello,

We’ve checked the sitemap https://www.wholegadgets.com/sitemap_index.xml and all other sub-page sitemaps and we can see that they are loading correctly.

Upon further checking with https://httpstatus.io/, we can see that all the sitemaps are returning 200 status as shown in the image below:

Upon further check of your website using the site: operator, we can see that only a few pages and posts are indexed and showing in the search engine result page.

This means some of your posts and pages are missing from the result page. We have provided a guide you can follow to ensure your website keeps showing up on Google search results: https://rankmath.com/kb/google-index/

Please check your Google Search Console coverage section to determine any issues reported on your site: https://support.artlogic.net/hc/en-gb/articles/360016851260-Google-Search-Console-errors-and-coverage-issues

You can also request the indexing of your pages by passing it through the URL Inspection Tool and request it there: https://developers.google.com/search/docs/crawling-indexing/ask-google-to-recrawl. The tool will also let you know if there are any issues on the URL that prevent them from getting indexed.

You can read more about that here: https://support.google.com/webmasters/answer/9012289?hl=en

Note that crawling and indexing these pages is at the complete discretion of the participating search engine. Crawling and indexing can take anywhere from a few hours to a few days/weeks. Be patient and monitor progress using the URL Inspection tool.

Hope this helps and please don’t hesitate to let us know if you have any other questions.

    Thank you.
