  • Hello,

Thank you for contacting Rank Math and bringing your concern to our attention. I’m sorry for the delay and for any inconvenience this issue may have caused you.

From the error message, it seems like new tables are not getting created in the Database or some old plugin has left an incorrect entry.

For initial troubleshooting, please follow these steps to fix the issue:
    https://rankmath.com/kb/fatal-error-after-1-0-49-update/

You can follow only the first 2 steps and clear your caches. The following steps mentioned in the article are for advanced users.

    Here’s a video screencast:

Please clear all the cache, including the server after following the above process.

Let us know how this goes.

    Thank you.

Do I need to deactivate rank math before using the repair plugin?

    Any feedback on my question?

    Hello,

We deeply apologize for the delay in response.

If the Rank Math plugin is already activated on your website then you don’t have to deactivate this.

However, if the issue still persists, then we might need to take a closer look at the settings. Please edit the first post on this ticket and include your WordPress & FTP logins in the designated Sensitive Data section.

Please do take a complete backup of your website before sharing the information with us.

    Sensitive Data Section

It is completely secure and only our support staff has access to that section. If you want, you can use the below plugin to generate a temporary login URL to your website and share that with us instead:

    https://wordpress.org/plugins/temporary-login-without-password/

You can use the above plugin in conjunction with the WP Security Audit Log to monitor what changes our staff might make on your website (if any):

    Looking forward to helping you.

    Thank you.

tried running it and got this:

“The Repair Action Scheduler could not run because the repair database schema is obsolete.

    No actions performed.

The Repair Action Scheduler plugin has been automatically deactivated.”

    Hello,

In this case, please share your WordPress and FTP logins in the sensitive data section so that we can check the issue further for you.

    Looking forward to helping you.

    Thank you.

I can do that on Monday but until then you can give me your theory on what is going wrong for a better understanding. Pls note we have 2FA security, what user role level do you require for WP access?

    Hello,

Did you try to simply reinstall the plugin by deleting it completely from the website via FTP and then adding it back again via the normal plugin installer method?

This error is pointing to a missing class in the vendor folder of our plugin and provided that you didn’t remove that folder willingly it should be present in the plugin folder.

Don’t hesitate to get in touch if you have any other questions.

No, this was the usual update process. So what are you suggesting I do now? Delete and reinstall? How about the existing data and how well will it be preserved?

    Hello,

Deleting and reinstalling the plugin will not affect the settings and data. All the data is saved in the database and will be restored as soon as you activate the plugin again. Please remove the plugin from your site using FTP and then install it again from the WP Dashboard and it should fix the issue.

Let us know how that goes. Looking forward to helping you.

ok i will do that and let you know how it goes.

So not delete from the WordPress admin panel, just via FTP only?

    Hello,

You can also remove the plugin from your WP admin panel. After deleting it, please ensure there is no seo-by-rank-math folder in the wp-content/plugins folder of your site’s root directory. If there is, delete it too, and then install the plugin again on your site.

    Looking forward to helping you.

I just updated to the latest version and saw no errors in the error log.

Was your latest version just a limited scope hotfix hence it did not touch any of the potentially missing files?

    Hello,

We currently haven’t experienced this type of error in our latest update so this issue must be specific to your WordPress setup.

It is possible that there are corrupt files or simply the required file is somehow deleted but we have no knowledge of how it happens.

With that said, if the issue happens again in the future, let us know here so we can investigate further on that.

    Looking forward to helping you.

    Hello,

Since we did not hear back from you for 15 days, we are assuming that you found the solution. We are closing this support ticket.

If you still need assistance or any other help, please feel free to open a new support ticket, and we will be more than happy to assist.

    Thank you.
