Adding keywords to multilingual website

    Hi!

I´m just starting out with SEO and I must say it´s been lots of fun exploring Rank Math during the last couple of weeks.
I´ve been trying to find specific information about multilingual websites and how to approach these with Rank Math though it seems I end up being quite confused every time, which is why I am hoping you can help.

The website I am working on was originally written in English, but it was also translated with TranslatePress to Spanish. I have set Spanish as the default language (but am working in English in back end).

I am using Google Keyword planner to do research on potential high ranking keywords both in English and in Spanish.

What is the recommended best practice to add the corresponding focus keywords to pages and posts in English AND in Spanish through Rank Math to aim for a high ranking for speakers of both languages?

Will the keywords be automatically translated? I’m asking because the equivalent of say English specific keywords to Spanish will of course not always be those with higher search volume which I’m trying to incorporate.

    Many Thanks!

    Regards,
    Ruxandra

    Hi Michael,

Thanks for your response. Am I then correct in understanding that there is then no way to perform SEO in multiple language without having to incur additional costs?

The whole project is on a tight budget, I would appreciate any recommendations or alternatives you might have.

    Thanks in advance

    Hi Michael ,

As far as I can tell I am not able to translate metadata in an additional language with Translate Press without upgrading to premium, unless there is something I’m missing out.
I was hoping to be able to use Rankmath for both languages on my website.
    Thanks

    Hello,

Thank you for the follow up.

There are a number of translation plugins available like WPML and Loco-Translate. Unfortunately, they all have a limitation for their free plans and at some point you’d have to make a purchase.

Hope this helps you. Thank you.

    Hey RankMath Team!

Just heard news that Rankmath is now fully compatible with WPML. Congrats:) Does this mean that SEO can be performed at the necessary level for the additional langueage with WPML? Can you indicate what differences/ possibilities /limitations would be between using WPML and TranslatePress to up SEO efforts with Rankmath ? Or will there maybe be a tutorial coming out for WPML soon?

    Thanks, highly appreciate it!

    Hello,

Well, the main difference is you need to pay for a module in TranslatePress to be able to configure all the SEO settings but outside of that, everything should be almost the same.

If there were a tutorial coming soon, what would you like to see on it?

    Looking forward to help you.
