    Rank Math free

Hi, I have your free version of RankMath and as much as I like it there are some oddities that prevent me from going pro.

After I install a new update and I view my site “some” of the pages are resulting in a 404. I then “de-activate” your plugin refresh & everything works fine. Then I have to go back and “activate” your plug in refresh and then it works fine. I shouldn’t have to do this each time yor have an update.

I get emails from time to time from Bhanu Ahluwalia asking me to go pro and I have expressed my concerns with him and he suggested I put in a “support ticket”

sure I can send you my URL but it works now. What do you need from me to help find the problem?

    Regards

  • Hello,

Thank you for contacting Rank Math and bringing your concern to our attention. I’m sorry for any inconvenience this issue may have caused you.

Could you please share the URLs so we can check them as well if they are affected by one of Rank Math’s settings?

You can add them in the sensitive data section

    Sensitive Data Section

It is completely secure, and only our support staff has access to that section.

    Looking forward to helping you.

    Thank you.

Sure I can send you my URL but it only happens when you have an update and it affects “some” of Footer Links. I use the “Icon List” for my footer menu. The one that was affected the most was: “learning” & “new arrivals” which is a Product Category. The website link is. https://dailyhuff.com/

    Thank you

    Hi there,

Thanks for your reply. We’re sorry to hear that some of your footer links are affected by Rank Math updates. We know how frustrating that can be.

We have a possible solution for you, but it will require some testing on your end. It’s possible that this issue might be caused by a conflict with another plugin or theme that you’re using on your site. Sometimes, plugins or themes can interfere with each other and cause unexpected problems.

To find out if this is the case, you can try to isolate Rank Math and see if the problem still happens. Here’s how you can do that:

    • When there’s a new Rank Math update available, before you update it, deactivate all your other plugins except Rank Math. Also, switch to a default WordPress theme like Twenty Twenty Two. This will create a clean environment where only Rank Math is active.
    • Then, update Rank Math and check your footer menu. See if the links are still working as expected or not.
    • If the links are working fine, then it means that one of the plugins or themes that you deactivated was causing the conflict. You can then reactivate them one by one and check your footer menu after each activation. This way, you can identify which plugin or theme is the culprit and either replace it or contact its developer for support.
    • If the links are still not working, then it means that the issue is not related to a plugin or theme conflict. In that case, please let us know here and we’ll be happy to investigate this more.

We understand that deactivating your plugins and themes on your live site might not be ideal, as it can affect your site’s functionality and appearance. That’s why we recommend that you create a staging copy of your site to do this test. A staging copy is an exact replica of your site that is hidden from the public and only accessible to you. You can use it to test things without affecting your live site. You can learn how to create a staging copy here.

Alternatively, you can use the Health Check plugin to do this test. This plugin allows you to troubleshoot your site without affecting your visitors. You can use it to deactivate plugins and themes only for yourself, while keeping them active for everyone else. You can learn how to use the Health Check plugin here.

We hope this helps you solve the issue with your footer links. Please let us know how the test goes and if you need any further assistance. We’re always here to help!

Thank you for choosing Rank Math!

thanks for the input. To be honest, I think it’s easier just to De-activate your Plug in and activate again when the problem occurs. My staging site with Godaddy doens’t work. I have spoke to them many times about it and it just doesn’t work. So that suggestion is out of the question.

    thanks for your help

    Hello,

Thank you for getting back to us.

I don’t think “activating Rank Math only when the issue occurs again” would help resolve the problem unless you’re no longer interested in using Rank Math. But if you want to take advantage of Rank Math’s powerful features, we can definitely help resolve this issue and get you back to running your site.

That said, you don’t need to rely on Godaddy to create a staging site for you. You can use other plugins or tools that are available for free or at a low cost. For example, you can use WP Staging or WP Stagecoach to create a staging site in minutes. These plugins will guide you through the process and let you clone your site with just a few clicks.

Once you have a staging site ready, please follow the instructions we shared with you earlier and let us know the results. We will then be able to access your staging site and investigate the issue further. We promise to do our best to resolve the issue and make sure you enjoy using Rank Math.

Thank you for your patience and understanding.

    Hello,

Since we did not hear back from you for 15 days, we are assuming that you found the solution. We are closing this support ticket.

If you still need assistance or any other help, please feel free to open a new support ticket, and we will be more than happy to assist.

    Thank you.
